I bought one & have driven over 50k kms now. Verdict, I'll probably wont get my hands on the Japaneses anymore, this car is bonkers in many aspects. Super nimble, super torquey, super ergonomic (driving positions & hand placements), it really acts like a sports mini hatch while it is actually a normal daily-drive hatchback. When the City RS with 253Nm came out in 2021 i thought that car would finally overtake the Peugeot in terms of torque & takeoff power, but nah ive test driven the City RS and it is nowhere near Pug 208's 1.2L turbo engine. Like GC Mah said, it is even more powerful than the 1.8L Civic. Definitely no regret buying this car 💯

@@oonminloong9929 it is more expensive than regular cars. If u using perodua, expect 3x the price, if u own honda jazz equivalent, then overall should b close to 2x price as mostly original parts..i see it more or less like bmw 3series f30 pricing on parts.

If the fan is too loud, try switching to soft auto or auto instead of auto fast on the climate control, or just override it and change the fan speed manually, there are eight settings.

Been an owner since 2018. While it's a joy to drive and manoeuvre around city streets, it's maintenance and spare parts cost would definitely put a dent in your wallet. They're more expensive than vw. Love it to bits though.

we had one, 2019 last batch in black colour, agree! its a very fun car to drive and very solid with premium feel for under rm100k! its also very powerful for its size and the cabin doesnt feel cramped, only thing it could be better with more features…

I have this car a 2017 puretech allure trim 5dr auto. The only features my car doesnt have is folding mirrors, nav, dual climate control but I dont mind not having them as i have apple car play to compensate but very nippy to drive and I feel safe in it.

After so long finally got a used unit. The engine indeed is so punchy. Don't fool by 112HP, the torque 205Nm it produced can easily overtake any car. With such power it does give good FC on highway 18.8kml running 120-140kph. If slower running 100kmh, is wrriten 22.4kml fc. That is impressive. City running is not impressive only 11.8kml. That is why hybrid overall more efficient. However being peugeot spare parts r expensive. We r talking about bmw f30 pricing.

@@THEiUsop Common issue 1, Peugeot is very sensitive car, those fault lights will haunt you always even in minor issue. That said you really need a Peugeot specialist to work on your car. Outside a lot can't fix it easily. Finding the issue sometimes specialist may need few days to identify it. Prepare for 2nd car use when that happens. Common Issue 2, puretech engine is designed where Timing belt running in wet condition that swimming with Engine Oil. Therefore replacing Timing Belt 80k mileage is mandatory, else there will be clogged inside the engine. You do not want that happen or ur engine will die. So far other than these, all good.

Hi there i got 2017 peugeot 208 1.2 turbo petrol Recently i realised that my car is shaking while engine runs , two days ago it was shaking while engine run with ac, today its shaking while engine run with and without ac. Tachometer is holding on 900rpm and jumps every couple of seconds to about 1k rpm and then coming back to normal. Its happening on warm or either cold engine. Im about 38,000 km before service. Wondering what that could be? did anyone face the same issue like me and got an solution for this?

we had both previously, 2011 Polo 1.2 TSi with DSG and 2019 208 1.2 Turbo, both are great cars with impressive handling and solid feel, sold off the Polo last year as its already 11 years and change to Ativa AV, still keeping the 208…

Spare part issue all the time. Service center like unprofessional and like snail. They promise warranty during purchase but give all sort of reasons during claim. I'm using 408...issues since purchase. Priced nearly to 100k but only after 3 years 8 months, resale value at 18k...if you think I lie, check reviews and Peugeot owner feedback. Also check 508 and 308 second hand value. Then you'll know how much this car will be have resale value after 3 years

Mohd Aiman Ahmad Hamidi Can't say much about reliability as I only received mine a week ago. But it's frickin fun to drive! 2 major downside that I noticed: 1. The aircond fan is too loud. Especially when you're outside. 2. The engine start/stop function is not smooth enough. There's a slight juddering everytime u release the brake.

how reliable is Peugeot cars these days? Been hearing bad stories on Pug & VW cars. If not lucky, then might have to spend more time at SC and if after warranty is over, the cost to replace even the wire harness is like RM15k if i am not mistaken. Or Peugeot has iron out ALL of its engine issues with this PureTech model?

Used to own the previous gen , that the after sales service is like fcuk , and the car previous gearbox is shit (claim the gearbox twice which cost them RM20k each time) , and it not what u call reliable (every time claim warranty need wait long time) , and that maintenance fees ...... But it's a nice car to drive

Big difference,i had studied it. Considering each 10k mileage, new Myvi ~RM220 vs 208 puretech ~RM580. Thou size may seem smaller or same segment but definitely different class by itself.

@@tuansherwynhamidon9687, thou is expensive, but the engine on such small car is really a sport car. I tested an SUV paired with same engine with 400KG+ xtra. The car still move fast easily to 140kph no sweat. It comes with a price.

I just drove one of my friend 208 1.2 puretech.. very underpower.. super loud engine rpm sound pitch when reach 90kmh on gear 3.. and noisy air con fan.... i cant tolerate. Other than that...handling is good comfort is good. Sorry la fiesta 1.0 ecoboost is still far better except the transmission a bit jerky on slow speed

The Ecoboost is only 1.0 but cost over 90k. What a waste of money plus the god awful interior quality. I have the 208 puretech 1.2 turbo and no issues (use the settings to fix the air cond). The power delivery is very linear. Stop bad mouthing the product.

@@AmirChemE i agree with you fiesta interior is not good. The air con is just slighly less noisy than 208. Dont get me wrong 208 handling and comfort good as well. Performance wise i pick fiesta. Last time i clock 0 to 100 around 9.4sec. Quite fast for 1.0 cc engine. Transmission is bit jerky on slow speed especially traffic jam.

Im not sure with your statement that says Europe cars are not suitable here in Asia because, technically cars are built to be driven on the road and basically everywhere is the same sir but i believe there are some particular reasons made you said so. Luckily mine is still running fine, i been using Peugeots right from the previous 308 turbo, then 3008 suv n the latest one is the brand new 308 THP. Personally i think they are stunning which the reliability is super great so far unlike the Mercedes, it needs better care 😂 basically this is my sharing bout using Peugeots and they are extremely fine to run but peoples have their own preferences thou and i myself preferring Peugeots. I believe that u switched to Japanese cars now sir
