Another great job from Jimmy. If I owned that Peugeot, I'd be looking to get the timing and auxiliary belts replaced ASAP, as I wouldn't trust them at all, after all the oil that got onto them.

its normal for the 1.6hdi fan to stay on when there is a fault with emissions. sometimes the battery drains unless you unplug the battery to reset until repairs

Yes and outside air temp not working being the most common culprit. Abs faults also run the fan on high speed

These 1.6 and 2.0 HDI engines are very good. As long as you maintain them, they can go very far. As for electronics, they are for sure not reliable. But only for electronics. Engines are great.

I have a PSA engine in my Volvo. It's slightly altered actually but it's the 1.6 diesel that was sold to Ford, Volvo and Mazda. Anyway my point being that it seems pretty reliable. Mines got 180000 miles on it. I change oil every 5-6 thousand miles usually. I have noticed a puff of blue smoke in morning. Got to be the valve seals starting to perish. Other than that it's a decent engine imo.

Oh and the injector seals WILL leak. Either the small rubber 'leak off' seals or the copper main seals. This makes a mess on top of the block. 😅

I am considering a 73k miles diesel vehicle from a dealer and don't want to get landed with dpf problems 6 to 12 months down the line. If I asked them to do a dpf test what numbers should I be hoping to see to satisfy there is life in it ?

Mine 207 Hdi has same issue and same time my dpf is clogging up to ! Is that oil leak causes dpf clogging up ?thank you in advance

What is the cheapest tool I can get to reset the complete dpf system . I mean I probably have to reset like 5 of them

What’s the verdict on the acetic acid ash removal method? Got 30% & 40% & a fucked DPF. IT HAS SAPPED MY WILL TO LIVE!!! Never drive 1200 miles a week with a scan tool & live data ffs. 2000 miles & almost needs an oil change 🙀🙀🙀

The interior light stopped working... Well that's fixed now let's clean that DPF... But it's a petrol engine.. okay can I at least run my scan tool and the smoke machine then?
