The 508 RXH is based on the 508 SW, but is higher and wider and gets more rugged looking bodywork. It also features the same hybrid engine, which combines a diesel engine to drive the front tyres and an electric motor to turn the rears, as the 3008 HYbrid4. Because of its four-wheel drive abilities, and the fact that it's only available in one trim level with all the luxury equipment you could need, it's a direct rival for the Audi A4 Allroad and Volkswagen Passat Alltrak.

Took a gamble and bought this car over the Audi A6 Avant a few months ago and I've not regretted it. It's a very comfortable car. It's not a sports car and I do not expect it to behave as one. Strong points: Extremely comfortable, very good fuel economy. Regularly over 60 mpg on short runs. Real life MPG around 53.2 mark. Rewards you for driving gently as very cosseting and saves you on fuel. Bad points: Very sluggish especially when making quick exits from gear 1. I've learnt to overcome that by selecting the sports mode and it behaves like an animal. Lovely cruiser on the motorway. I can't really fault this car. Would I buy again? A big YES.

Had mine now for 18 months with a trip to Spain. It's a bit of a Swiss army knife of a car. Good at just about everything and very well screwed together. Yes, the gearbox can be a bit of a pain but you learn how to use it. Real world MPG is around 50, but pretty good for such a big beast. Very comfortable, easy to drive and full of all the toys. I won't be selling mine any time soon. You'll be lucky to find one though. They didn't make much of an impact in the UK and there are very few around.

Well Peugeot is more luxuryus than BMW, but this one is more sporty, and got better driving feelings, and the perfect one is the BMW M5 E90 V10 Touring

it's flickering because LED tail light use PWM which control the brightness by turn LED on and off very very fast, which faster that normal eyes could see. tail light need PWM so it can have 2 brightness level, normal tail light and brake indicator. But when it come to the camera which normally capture video at 30 frames per second(or something about this rate), there will be some frame that LED is on the off state, result is what you see in the video.

they actually blink all the time, not just on camera. the thing is they blink so fast you can't notice it, but they blink, the camera just makes it noticeable.

I had one of these for 6 months before my company car was delivered and was quite impressed with it to start off with as it was pretty quiet and had a lot of equipment and you don't see too many of them on the road so it was different. I have to say though that the sat nav was poor compared to competitors offerings and the seats were uncomfortable (to me). Also I had to have the AA out twice for battery drain and it went into limp home mode on the M6 in rush hour, which made me popular!

Whilst it is true that the car is nearly as expensive as some 3 series. I think you'll find that the BMW won't be nearly so well equipped, or 4wd. Now you could spec it up on the options list. But then it will be a very expensive car.

There isn't any mistake, it can only ride 2 miles with the only power of the electric motor with the battery. But the all-electrical run isn't its goal (for example the new Prius can run only 15miles with its voluminous batteries), the electric motor is here to make it 4WD without a bulky transmission tunnel and to spare gasoil, not to be an electrical powered car. It gasoil consumption is very low.

I really dont understand her comparing this car with bmw 3 series. They are not even in the same class. Peugeot 508 RXH is in the same class with Audi A4 and A6 Allroad, Vw passat alltrack. Skoda scout and volvo xc70 cross country. Bmw 3 series is rear wheel drive , much smaller and it doesnt have any similarities with Peugeot 508 RXH. Does this woman know anything about cars?

Just notice that you mean the day light LED not the tail light. The daylight LED need PWM so it can control the brightness for various condition.

that electric motor is not for long travel , it's made for hybrid consumption in urban area it has like 4/100 liters/km in urban areas witch is great for a car this size and 2 motor !

i was talking the 508 not about peugeot. i am well aware of BMW's place in the car industry, but the statement " 3 series is MUCH MORE premium than 508 " is invalid to my own experience. is the 3 series more premium than the 508 ( of course it is but it's a gap of 20-25% id say, wich aint relating to the statement "MUCH MORE")

That SOS button is really rather stupid: what if you press it unintentionally? You're cruising along the motorway, press it without noticing and in five minutes the road is closed because of the ambulances and police cars that went to help someone who merely wanted to turn on the sat-nav!

2a-end) Those who still existed after the destructions of the WW2 had to leave their place as leaders in sport, prestige & luxury cars for economic reasons in France which was released destroyed & ruined by the WW2 & especially (few peoples know & say that) looted by the Germans in the cars industry... Its no wonder you felt like its not a Peugeot. The 508 makes even the Audi A4 feel a bit bland and cheap inside. Quality of materials in 508 as well as fit and finish is beyond the small executive segment. This car is closer to Audi A6 than A4.
