Peugeot 604 - on the road again!

Always liked this model, very clean classy design, I had a late model 505 GTI but always fancied a 604.

I had several cars, including Mercedes 280SE W116 and BMW 3,0 Si E3 the 604 had by far the best riding comfort and most reliable engine....never ever any problems and it was even faster than the BMW --I had the 604 Gti last edition 2,8 1983, I checked Horsepower on rolling road 175 HP IN STOCK CONDITION.

Ich mag die großen Peugeot sehr. In den 90igern fuhr ich den Nachfolger 605 V6 mit 167 PS. Auch heute fahre ich noch einen dicken Peugeot 607 V6 HDI..... Peugeot for ever 😍❤

Beautiful car mate. They're rare here in Australia. We only had the 2.7 litre V6, mates to the 3speed GM automatic. Nice car, and one that has the virtues of comfortable ride and good handling, qualities that seem to have eluded Peugeots of today, and the last 15 odd years.

A friend of mine has checked 604 carb engine from SL version, in very good condition this engine cranks out 150 HP

Mein Vater fuhr einen Weinroten Ende 70ger Anfang 80er Jahren, war ein tolles geräumiges und bequemes Auto.

I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old PRV V6 Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

Naja gesoffen haben sie damals alle. Wenn ich bedenke das mein erstes Auto, ein VW Derby mit 50 PS, schon 9 Liter auf 100 Km brauchte, ist der 604 im Vergleich schon wieder sparsam.

PRV V6 there are Kits for Delorean giving 300 HP with Turbo!

PRV Engine can revv very sweetly if carbs or K-Jetronic injection i well tuned... Very good Maserati Sound too! The Marty Mc Fly "back to future" DeLorean supercar had the same engine also Renault Alpine A310!

I'm curious, all the 1979-1980 604 V6 (and 1982-1984 Turbo Diesels) manual transmission versions imported into the USA were all 5 Speeds..............was the 5 Speed optional for the V6 in Europe during that time-frame?

The 604 is the best luxury car of the 70s, the suspension is much better than any Mercedes or Bmw its allmost Up To Citroen SM!

Même objectif pour moi. Je la revois encore en concession, brun foncé.. Après plusieurs allemandes premium et SUV, l'envie d'une 604 est demeuré intact!
