Usual great review Brian and when you compared prices to Hybrids it shows now the EV pricing is coming into line across so many segments. The March of the EV is unstoppable.

Interested and going to test drive one, however while 400+ mile range sounds great, be interesting to know the real world range with 7 people onboard

Nice looking car and hugely roomy, but you just know for a private buyer they will be £30k used in a year. At that price it’s a good buy, but close to £50k is unfortunately more Stellantis fantasy pricing and they won’t sell for that.
@mikegipson1224Ай бұрын
Exactly right on the price and I suspect the lease deals will reflect a lower price for sure...

Speaking of not judging a family car on handling. Perhaps more reviews should be talking about how they drive around tight car parks, all well having a great view forwards and wrap around seats if you can't turn around in the seat, it won't drive at less than 5mph and it barely steers at full lock.
@markbennett6658Ай бұрын
It looks better than the e3008, which although interesting looking appears a little bloated and slab backed. The quirky bluff face is better matched with more traditional suv rear and the longer wheel base of the e5008 makes the car look longer and leaner. Probably price wise it’s ok in the segment but a depreciated one in a couple of years will be more attractive to many. The range on the big battery version will definitely get some attention even if the 411 miles reduces to about 300 miles fully laden in the depths of winter. I believe a panoramic roof is an option which would lighten it up but that’s the rub. Ticking all the boxes is going to make it uncompetitive. More standard kit please Peugeot!
@OutrunCid25 күн бұрын
The e3008 would've benefited A LOT from the longer wheelbase the e5008 has. I prefer the styling of the e3008, as well as its better efficiency. I don't need the 7 seats, nor the extravagant boot space the e5008 offers. However, I would've appreciated the comfort a longer wheelbase offers, as well as just a tad more space in the second row. And it probably would've helped the looks as well.
@markbennett665825 күн бұрын
@@OutrunCid how about the recently announced e408 then?
@OutrunCid25 күн бұрын
@@markbennett6658 Hadn't seen anything about that model just yet, thanks for the headsup! Looks like it's style over substance though. Living in Germany, extra range goes a long way. The e408 comes with a 58kWh battery apparently, and "fast" charging of up to 120kW only. My guess is that it's built on a different platform, unfortunately.
@markbennett665825 күн бұрын
@@OutrunCid yes it’s already available as a mild hybrid and I think straight 1.2 petrol in the UK. The electric version has only recently been announced and I don’t believe there have been any road tests yet. I’m not sure about the platform. It looks fairly long but that may be because of the low roofline and coupe rear end. Perhaps similar to the e3008 in wheelbase so not quite large enough for you. Stellantis products generally don’t have very fast DC charging mind you, not that there are many super fast chargers, certainly in the UK.

Very nice car. But there's always something isn't there. That sharp (relatively) edge on the steering wheel rim would do my head in, and the fact that the dual motor only coming with the smaller battery seems a bit daft to me. Otherwise, love it.
@michaelhuber71Ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the review. Do you have an idea how the performance of the 320PS model will be? 0-100. I cant find anything about it. I wait for that version because the car is super.. only the speed could be better.... its good. But in comparison to other E cars. I hope it will be arround 7s. I am for sure not the target group. What I am looking for is more trunk space. Deepness.. no liters. Thats all. But all the other cars dont have it. I do nit need 7 seats. wish there would be a cheaper 5 seat version. Is not. Thats so annoying!

the same here. But anyway, thinking of changing my existing 408 combustion to 5008 PHEV.

One question - is it easy for the front passenger to change their side of the dual zone air-con temperature? Did not look like it would be easy for the front passenger to do so?
@PetelmrgАй бұрын
Not particularly having a dig at this car, but I purposely never buy black cars due to the nightmare of keeping them looking clean, and this trend of cladding the most vulnerable road dirt areas (wheel arches, sills and lower rear) means the whatever colour you buy you can’t avoid it!

Well now that Tesla Model Y has 7 seater version available in Europe how does it compares to E-5008?

@AutoEV which would be your personal preference if the choice is between e-5008 and MB EQB? And why?
@AutoEVАй бұрын
The Peugeot E5008. I like the Mercedes, but the Peugeot offers more efficient use of interior space, more room in the third row, a bigger boot, stylish interior, better value for money and better range and efficiency. The EQB is a good car, but it’s expensive when you compare it to the same specification Peugeot and the E5008 goes further on a charge. I hope that helps, and thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
@sandiszАй бұрын
@@AutoEV Thank you for your opinion. I completely agree with you. I have driven both recently, the e-5008, EQB and even the EV9. The Mercedes at first glance seemed like a premium car until you start comparing it and notice some minor but flaws like hard plastics underneath in a cabin, suspension noise on rough serfaces even though it has a stable and compelling ride, low quality remote camera, monotone design, less space for the money and of course pricy in a top spec. On the other hand, the e-5008's ride comfort is somewhere similar to the EV9 - easy manoeuvrability, plenty of space and a floaty ride. For large families with 3+ kids it's a good alternative to the EV9 and id.Buzz, which cost way more with a similar spec. I also don't want to say that the EQB is in any way a bad car, it is ideal for city drive and parking, for families with 1-2 children, plenty of space inside even for tall drivers like me, boot opens up to 2m in hight, small turning circle, good visibility, versatility and a respectable brand, just missing a few bits to beat the newer competitors.

It looks like there are air vents on the 3rd row on the roof. Could you confirm that?

Enjoy the reviews....do you review any used EVs? Why is cable storage under the load area... infuriating with a full load on a rain6day when you need to charge up en route. It should be a dedicated are under the bonnet imo.
@CobnapintАй бұрын
Quite agree. They've tucked the cables away in a draw but to open the draw you've got to clear everything out of it's way first.

Yet another ‘speed brake’ charge door. So vulnerable when using some chargers in public spaces or along the roadside. The EV9 is similar. I put mine on charge in Helensburgh station and then spent a day in Glasgow fretting that I would be returning to a broken charge door. There is also the risk that someone might amuse themselves by breaking it. With all the tech being thrown at electric vehicles surely a better solution could be found, in fact why are manufacturers obsessed with putting the charge port in the same position as a petrol filler on ICE cars when they have to be left unattended for longer periods?
@jaapboode2719Ай бұрын
Good test. About the price compared to other seven-seaters. The cost is not only determined by the purchase price. Depreciation is of substantial influence. I miss that aspect a bit in the test.

I would love to include it, but it’s a bit of a crystal ball scenario with a car that has literally just been launched. Who knows what it will be like in relation to its contemporaries?
