I had no blower in my van for a year and gave up fixing it after I couldn't sort it. After watching this video, I replaced the relay and hey ho it works. What a God send.

Bought a relay from breakers this morning fans now working.. The owner of the breakers said relays can pop. Usually the cause is either the fan in the way out or possibly a burn in the loom somewhere.... Great video... Mucho Mucho grasias. I'll buy you a drink now 🍺

if the 40a fuse is good and the relay is working properly where to look next?
@harrisjohann4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing out this relay man, my relay's coil wasn't fused, it was just carbonized at the contacts. Popped the relay open using 2 flat screwdrivers, remove the spring carefully, borrowed my wife's emery board and rub off the carbon on both contacts, test again and it worked! 💪🏼💪🏼😁 disclaimer : do this at your own risk, I'm a trained engineer and we do this sometimes when in desparate need of urgent parts.

Just wondering what to do after changed the resistor and relay and getting no power at the fuse in engine bay and fuse is good. Somebody was at the relay plug before and all wires going to it were joined. 2 wires looked burnt at the joiners so I cut the wires and rejoined them and still nothing really lost at the minute with what to do next any info will help thank you.

Thanks for taking time to make the video. My heater stopped working, all but the number 4 fan setting works. Shall be checking relay this evening! Hopefully it’s something more simple like this this! Thanks Luke
@eddien094 жыл бұрын
Mine is the exact same, all but number 4. Did you fix yours and what was the issue?
@Elwooddudes4 жыл бұрын
Eddie Nolan Hi Eddy, it turned out to be the Resistor. The old one was so rusty and shot when I pulled it out! Replaced it with a new one from eBay and it blows on all numbers now. How this helps 👍🏼 Only thing is now I can’t get much heat still through... especially in the footwell. Least it works half the time 😅
@tsb30933 жыл бұрын
Note that if you have the fan working on maximum speed the problem is always the resistor…if the fan isn’t working at all it will most likely be the resistor or possibly the fan motor or fuse.

I have a similar problem on my partner tepee but it’s intermittent. Mostly there is nothing when you turn on the blowers but occasionally they will work and 1/2 will be fine, 3 a little noisy, 4 very loud whirring noise. When it does work, 4 will only go for 30second max then you’ll get nothing again. Any ideas please

Do you know where the heater resistor is on a Peugeot 508 2012?
@oakfront2 ай бұрын
Hello all, I have the exact same problem and i replaced the resistor and respliced the connector block, all before seeing this post. In my haste to fix it I made the error of not testing the feed beforehand as I assumed it would be the block connector but since I have found there is no power to the connector plug in question. I assume this wire goes back to the engine bay. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I go from here as I don't know too much about car electrics and now I'm totally stumped? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

All well and good, but how long for? If you have a burn out on the 87 pin (the LOAD pin) then there will be a problem with the motor.

Time will tell Richard, customer is very happy since and I spoke to him last week, it was a low cost repair and will most likely last a very long time. I understand what you are saying but neither of us know the answer to that. I have seen relays in similar conditions replaced and never had another issue. Thanks for the comment

Damn I've opened up my whole blower motor unit, changed the transistors on the actuator unit next to the blower motor unit. Problem seemed similar to this chap on the link attached, kzbin.info/www/bejne/bomYimBsa8iMiaM ..... :) even ordered a part from uk of e-bay (live in Finland) part not suitable..... hahahhaha and snows are already falling in the north- GOT= WINTER IS COMING......
