Replacing a front coil spring on a 2001 Peugeot 406 3.0 V6 Estate.
This process should be near enough the same on all variants of the 406, and in general most front wheel drive cars with McPherson struts are the same.
The coil spring had broken towards the top and this would have been reason for an MOT failure.
With the hub removed from the car the lower balljoint was also replaced, it was not in terrible condition but it was the opportune moment to show on video how to replace one of these lower ball joints.
Other than that the car recieved new disks and pads all round.
This is a relativley easy job to do, except for the part where the spring needs to be compressed. For that i would recommend taking the sturt assembly and new spring to a mechanic with a spring compressor and paying whatever small amount it may cost to have the spring replaced with a new one.
