8:02 Fun facts ☺: These creatures are called Tanuki and they have been and still are very popular within Japanese folklore and culture in general. They are masters of disguise, incredibly mischievous and are said to live a very hedonist lifestyle. One of the most prominent characteristics of this creature is the very visible scrotum (exactly what you see in the video), which symbolises fertility, prosperity and luck. This is the reason why ceramic statues of tanuki with a straw hat and a sake jug can be found in front of a lot of restaurants, bars, and sake shops in Japan.
