Oh man... that ending when people were getting teary eyed... I can relate so hard. When I was just a kid. I grew up in an extremely small community about 30 miles outside Indianapolis. There was never much to do. The neighborhood kids were all older, I only had one friend for a while, and my dad was almost always gone for work. It was a lonely time in my life and I don't remember much. But I do remember every Sunday night the Colts played. That was the only time me and my dad could do something together. Due to that, I didn't miss a single sunday game for like 4 years. He was the coolest guy in my eyes. Nothing in my life gave me more happiness than putting on my #18 jersey and watching football with my dad, having all the pride a colts fan could possibly have. Bless you and your family wherever you go from here on out Peyton. I can't thank you enough for the memories. You'll always be my hero

Who did he choose to retire with and go into the the hall of fame with? THE BRONCOS. In 4 years Peyton went 1-1 in super bowls. It took him 14 years with your sorry franchise to do the same. You guys wasted his career, just like you have done with Luck. There's a reason Elway refused to be a Colt, it's a dogshit franchise, haha.
@arthasmenethil4297

J Silva he isn’t in the hall yet dude, he will be both. I think of him more as a colt, but he’s a little salty that the idiot GM cut him, thank god he’s gone. One of those superbowls he got blown out of the water, and Super Bowl 50 he was terrible that year. The Broncos have always had the patriots number, and the Colts never did except that one year they were completely out gunned and almost won anyway.

@@Sowned_ Yet he said no to the Colts, when they offered him 1 day contract to retire with them ha. The Broncos helped him accomplish the same thing that it took you guys 13 years to do. 2 SB and 1 SB win. You guys had 19 seasons of Manning and Luck and 1 superbowl. The Colts are a disgrace of a franchise. They wasted both careers. Thankfully Elway was smart and he knew his career would be wasted with the Colts and he made them trade him to the Broncos. Somewhat ironic isnt it? Elway forced the Colts to trade him and he came to Denver. Colts abandoned Manning and he had just as much success in 4 years in Denver as 13 in Indy. And he set NFL season records with the Broncos, not the Colts.
@jsilva7005
@jsilva7005 4 жыл бұрын
@@arthasmenethil4297 Youre proving my point. His arm blew out halfway through his next to last season so effectively the Broncos had him healthy for 2 & 1/2 seasons and they still went to 2 superbowls and won 1 for him despite not being healthy. Imagine if he had played his entire career with the Broncos. I would bet everything I have that he would have 3 rings minimum. Look at what happened with Luck. They wasted the potential of 2 genrational talents. Tell me if anything that I said is a lie. I never hated Indy, but how they thew Manning away really rubbed me the wrong way.. The Colrs have had THREE generational talents: Elway, Manning and Luck. Most NFL teams havemt even had 1. The Colts have been blessed with the #1 pick 3 years where the #1 pick was a guarantee. And only have 1 superbowl? That shows they are one of the worst franchises in history. To have so little success with so much talent. If they ever get to draft another generational talent that QB better pull an Elway if he knows whats good for him. They had the rights to Elway, the fact that he didnt play 1 snap for them sums up their franchise perfectly.

I live in Indianapolis. This city had absolutely no downtown before Peyton Manning got here. Now the Indianapolis skyline is one of the most beautiful skylines in the country. Peyton built this city. He’s the reason why we got the Super Bowl when we did. Hosting a Super Bowl before Manning got here would have been laughable. He also built a beautiful children’s hospital here. Indianapolis owes him infinitely more than most people realize.

Grew up 50 miles north of Indy, and can remember the hoopla when the Colts moved here in ‘84. Witnessed many disappointing seasons, COLTS standing for “Count On Losing This Sunday”, Rick Venturi as a head coach....you name it. With the drafting of Manning, an entire culture changed. And while “only” winning one Super Bowl as a Colt, he continues to have a profound impact on the fans that have supported the team from Day 1. Personally, I believe he could’ve never won a SB but would still be beloved as ever around these parts. The reactions of some of the people who met him on this day say it all. Many people just want to know that the men or women they follow or look up to can be down-to-earth enough to connect with, even if for just 10 seconds.

Max Bowen Well, I do remember the whole Mayflowers at Midnight saga. As a 12 year old back then, it didn’t register to me as thievery. It was just a big deal to have a professional football team within an hour’s drive. Nowadays as a fella pushing 50 and understanding more of how the world works, I can definitely understand how the fans of the Baltimore Colts felt betrayed and screwed over.

From then on, Manning is the reason I love football so much. Just the way plays on the field and acts off the field, he just does everything right. My dad was right. We will never see a man like Peyton in the game for as long as we live. And now, he is permanently enshrined into Indianapolis and Colts fans everywhere and it is so damn beautiful. What a Legendary act! Once again showing what a class act Peyton is. I can't imagine all those phones in my face and people trying to get up closer and closer. He handled every bit like The Sheriff!

In my eyes he’s better then Brady. Manning had to carry his team all those years and NEVER CHEATED

Oh man, I'm so mad. I drove 10 hours and got there just in time to take a selfie with the statue and get inside before the game. To realize later that I could've met him up close is maddening. Still grateful to have been there in person.

He built that house then barely got a chance to play in it. Peyton Williams Manning is forever the GOAT. I still cry every time I watch the press conference to announce he was cut. He donated so much money to the Indianapolis Children's hospital they changed its name to the Peyton Manning children's hospital.
