@@dinxsy8069 dont be a debbie downer. Hondas are generally easy to build, I work on euro stuff (BMW audi, Jaguar etc but ford are just as bad) I need to buy specialist tools to do timing on every engine, honda, toyota, nissan, generally build their engines with dowels and keys, so its just join the dots, or line up the links and so on. follow the service manual and a monkey (with an eye for detail) could do it with basic tools. If Mr BURNING BRIDGES only ever worked on chebby small blockes, then yes with these videos he likely could tackle a B16.

I enjoy getting to see the internal stuff on all different engines and I am always spotting things that cross from one brand to another because they all have things that are interesting or different as well and after a while you start noticing really bad ideas as well. The list of really bad ideas is long but sometimes they are stepping stones to make the whole package better and will evolve over time. The channel I do cars shows a lot of different engine designs so Stephen should check that out.

Classic, I'm getting my cousin's 91 nsx he put in a curb. So I have fix the suspension. And was going to J swap it. But if it has this C30A motor, I'm going to build it instead keep it original, with all the custom aftermarket parts I have found. Probably easier in the long run. And both will make a ton of power build. Especially with the Ft600s I have waiting to go in the racecars, transmission almost done and engine/ heads coming relatively soon. Shout out to Sean from P2R for the R&D of there head problem, tools, tips, and engine vendors like Ferrera coming on board. Love all the J series guys that are bonifide developers and not out for a quick buck and lackluster custom service. Heel toe, P2R, K tuned, Ferrera, racing break or rb performance, PCI compliance bushings, insane shafts, Honda OEM , Cardinaliway Acura, WPC treatments, Brian crower, the head jobs all CNC machine. CCS engines. Endless Rpm, TB motorsports, Fong from PFI speed, Tuff Track. FuelTech, Love all the new parts companies are working on, finally some J series support, so much needed on a great bonifide platform.

you should still think about the j route..a lot of the community store their c engines after a couple of miles and swap to j just for the aftermarket and cheap parts.. and keep the c engine fresh.. but then again if you really want to experience the car and plan to keep it forever just run the c to the end of life then j swap

I NEED HELP! I'm putting together an engine, just real fun street car. I'm about to get valve springs but unsure. Only big difference is seat pressure. Intake 54lbs exhaust 80lbs, or 60 and 91? It is a timing belt and max rpm is going to be like 8K. The heavier pressure springs are $50 cheaper but do I really want that much seat pressure on an engine with stock cams that is spending most of its life on the street. Maybe a trip to Mexico here and there. It's a 1.8T Audi if that makes any difference

Such a neat motor! Love it when engineers get a chance to make something without needing to worry about optimizing cost and mass production. The NSX being a low volume halo car meant they could geek out and use some novel tech. I bet it was inspired by the dominant RA16 Formula 1 Turbo V6 engine made by Honda just a few years prior. Supposedly when Honda Racing needed a motor for the 2004 JGTC season they just took a C series and threw a ton of boost at it. It ended up winning both the GT300 driver and team championships.

Done a timing belt on one of these... how on earth did I miss those marks on the pulley. never knew about the Ti rods either, IMHO always felt honda `missed the mark a little with the NSX, either a little more displacement (V8 version) or forced induction would ahve done in the 90s what the R35 GTR did on its launch, straight up humbled super-car makers and put them in there place.

The NSX was more or less the pet project of Honda racing who at the time engines were kicking ass and taking names in F1. The F1 influences in the engine are quite evident from the Titanium rods, cross bolt main caps, the super tight main cap registers, oil squirters, short stroke that allows for smooth high reving of the engine, cylinder head design as well as the general commitment to detail. Additionally when the first prototypes of the NSX were built Honda had F1 legend Ayrton Senna test the car at Motegi and then asked for his brutal honest opinion thinking he would have none because the car had been extensively tested by Honda. To Honda’s surprise Senna told them the car’s chassis was a marshmallow (flexed too much) Honda project executives who had a very good relationship with Senna took what he said to heart and stiffened the chassis like Senna has told them to do and the legend of the NSX was born.

Oh I've herd a clacking before lol. I ended up replacing my entire rocker assembly and she was saved, a pin popped out and I immediately shut it of and pulled the valve cover. First I noticed the bigger rocker arm was flipped up and the wifey found the dowel laying in the head. Long story short valve lash is very important, especially on d series. I will always remember valve lash after that incident.
