When you did the demo of the bass sounds, did you have the keyboard split, so the bass sounds are only on the bottom two octaves, with an electric piano sound for the upper octaves, or is the keyboard already set up like that ?

You can get the Yamaha P-225 for $699 if you shop around. Guitar Center had both the P-225 and the Roland FP-30X for that price. I found a !0% discount I was eligible for on top of that and got my Roland for $629. I was able to pick up the instrument at the store also. One thing an online demonstration can never tell you is what the keyboard action is like. If you want acoustic piano emulation, you have to get a Roland. For other purposes the Yamaha probably is a better choice as far as I can tell. There is no substitute for trying the keyboard. I had piano lessons 50 years ago. All I had to do was push down a couple of keys and I could tell which one suited my purposes. I have some experience learning on both guitar and piano. I am not very advanced, but I am a good researcher. The Yamaha and the Roland are the top of the entry level for full feature keyboards. The Kawai is above the entry level and sells at a higher price point. Full feature means weighted and graded keys and the ability to use a three pedal set in addition to the sustain pedal. My research tell me, secondary considerations should not be the arbiter of what keyboard a person buys. Secondary consideration means things such as which way the speakers point, the size of the of the headphone jack and what forms of connectivity are available. The keyboard is the user's interface with the instrument. Keyboard action and the tones the instrument produces are what it's about.

Sensei, thank you for this demo. I've just bought a P225 myself, but I find that the speakers sound weak even with volume on maximum, which came as a surprise. So you bought a P-225! I've never thought the P-225 sounded quiet, and I've never maxed out the volume. There is a function called SOUND BOOST, so I recommend you try it with it turned on. Hi. When using the sustain pedal on string sounds can I hold the notes in the same way I can do it on piano sounds? Or the sustain pedal doesn't affects the string sounds?
@pf_masa2 ай бұрын
In response to your question, I checked again how the sustain pedal works for each P-225 voice. When I press the sustain pedal on a string voice, the release time becomes longer. In other words, when I release the key with the sustain pedal pressed on a string voice, the sound gradually fades away.

@@pf_masa On roland fp30x when you press the sustain pedal on a string voice the sound continues with the same volume up to the moment you release the pedal.

Considering that you have a Yamaha and a Roland digital piano, which one do you prefer as regards the sustain pedal mode of working? The yamaha with short string effect pedal or the roland with long string effect pedal? Why?
@pf_masa2 ай бұрын
@@compc2 Which one you want to apply depends on what kind of songs I play. When using dual piano and strings, if I want to hold the high notes all the time, which is a common case, then I prefer the Roland. On the other hand, when playing chords in the mid-range, the strings often remain too loud when you press the sustain pedal, making the chord sound muddy, so if I want to play strings with chords at a low volume in ballads, then I prefer the Yamaha's sustain effect.
