Rounaq sir is that fine to take SWP from this category fund
@PFNonline8 күн бұрын
SWP is the option offered by the fund house to redeem in a piecemeal manner systematically from the scheme. SWP should ideally opted when a significant corpus/wealth is already created and the money is need to meet certain expenses or envisioned goals. Before you opt for the SWP, to build wealth you could make staggered lump sum investments in Multi Asset Allocation Funds or even better is to invest systematically over a period of time through the SIP route.

What about the taxation ?
@PFNonline5 күн бұрын
The taxation of Multi Asset Allocation Funds depends on their equity exposure. If a Multi Asset Allocation Fund maintains an exposure of a minimum of 65% in domestic equities over the past 12 months, then the scheme is taxed like an equity fund, else it is taxed like a debt fund. If the domestic equity exposure is up to 35% it will be taxed as a debt scheme, where in STCG and LTCC will be taxed as per your income tax slab. If the domestic equity exposure is between 35%-65%, STCG will be taxed as per your income tax slab, while the LTCG for holding period of more than 24 months, taxed at 12.5% without indexation benefit. If the domestic equity exposure is above 65%, it be taxed as an equity scheme, wherein the STCG will be taxed at 20% while LTCG (for holding period of more than 24 months) will be taxed at 12.5% without indexation benefit (if the gains are more than Rs 1.25 lakh in a financial year) Given the dynamic nature of the Multi Asset Allocation Fund, it is important to timely stay informed about allocation of the fund's portfolio.

@PFNonline thank you.. so if fund manager is going to allocate dynamically and the % allocation could change over time.. how as an investor would know what's the total tax implication? Would it be calculated pro rata ? E.g. if I stayed invested for 2 yrs but within those 2 yrs the equity exposure changed from 65 % for 6 months to, say, 35% for next 8 months and again changed to some other %..
