Baker is significantly underrated and undervalued because of his time at franchises in the rebuilding mode like the Browns and Panthers, dysfunction notwithstanding. The stats from these franchises and during his injury allowed biased or lazy takes by sports media in general. His football IQ, leadership/moxie, toughness in addition to his accuracy, arm strength and sneaky mobility make him a top 5-10 QB. He will get a $40m range offer at the combine. Bucs should sign him. If he has a good OL ( and subsequent running game), he will prove himself repeatedly as he did this year. Go Bucs!!

I hope the Bucs sign Baker. But I can see them drafting Penix and we'll have another Winston, Freeman era. Baker had his bad period and grew from it. He'll be an elite QB for the next decade on the right team. Hopefully the Bucs.

I'm trying to understand, see no sarcasm in my question: why wouldn't the Bucs sign Mayfield to a 3- or 4-year contract, after the season he put up? Mayfield is as good as any NFC QBs we saw in those playoffs.

we just don't want to over pay for a 9-8 Season in the NFC south with a top 10 defense and Elite passing attack with Mike, Chris, Wirfs and Goedke. Any QB can have a "good" season with this squad but an elite QB take you to the NFC championship or in Brady's case wins you a SB. He's a bridge QB and should be paid that way, we don't want a Daniel Jones situation!

@@brutalasbucs9719 Well, Bucs in 2023 were 9-8 + 1 po W vs Brady's 2022 8-9 + 1 po L. But I'm not sure what you're looking for at this point. That elite QB" you want is a rare commodity. So what do you suggest Bucs do for now?

Well that was a big nothing burger. No specific information, just general stuff like "we've gotta see who's willing to adress their qb need through draft and who wants to do it through FA"

Idk about Cousins but in the case of Mayfield, I do think Bucs should resign him. He did take them as far as he did in his first year. He proved he's still capable. Obviously, don't need to sign him to some hefty deal but he deserves another shot

@mikelytou That's not an apples to apple's comparison. Baker's experience has been with two dysfunctional franchises and a third one that knew they were not going to keep him. Is current employer has been a great fit

Baker should stay with Tampa and Kirk should stay with Vikings. Kirk knows the system and it is a good team. The reality for Kirk is why go to another team for more money and not be successful. I think the Vikings could make a Super Bowl run, but I do think the Vikings should not overpay for Kirk like they did in past.

Mayfield will be resigned by the end of this week. He's going on vacation to the Bahamas with the Buccaneers offensive line in March. You don't plan that trip if you plan on being a free agent in March.

Rich is forgetting Belichick isn’t in New England anymore. All three teams at 1-3 need to draft QB. Fields stinks and never was going to bring a big return - just get rid of him. Some combination of Williams, Daniels and Maye go 1, 2, 3. There aren’t any other prospects in this draft worthy of a top 3 pick. Mayfield likely resigns in Tampa; Cousins to ATL. Very few other FA QBs even worth a look.

Right. Because in his 6 seasons as a starter for the Vikings he averages 4,000 yards, 68% completion, 30 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. There are many starters who wished they could have those stats. But you know better.

@@winstonsyme5899 as a starter u believe they have a chance to win a sb that goes with the title that's why I said he was a backup because not once did I ever believe he had a chance and was happy when my team played him because I knew it was most likely a win. And u named some big names seriously u will compare him to them other than Lamar I do believe they have a chance at a sb and if Lamar can put his game together than he also has a chance.

In what way did he rob the league exactly? He may have robbed the Vikings with his contract but the league??? And I fail to understand what you mean by 'he fooled everyone'. I doubt if anyone other than Vikings fans even care enough to be fooled.
