It’s been raining nonstop here in my place so I can’t do a voiceover for this video. But basically I’m just sharing with you all how I built this commission of a PG Gundam GP01 with a resin conversion kit.
I love the design of GP01 kits so this was really fun to do although it was a but hard for me since I’ve never really done a lot of resin kits, this would be my 3rd one and it’s a perfect grade so that was extra intimidating but anyways it’s done and you can see this displayed at ThisPlay Inc. at SM Fairview!

GPO1 is my baby. It's not the most powerful gundam. And could probably easily go down. But if it isn't the most beautiful machine I ever laid eyes on😍. I gravitate to anything related. Full burner is nice. And you did a amazing job. Congrats

Amazing work! Which size chisels would you recommend for working on a PG? I want to rescribe the lines and add a some new ones.

0.2, 0.3 and some 0.5, also used 0.15 for some lines

looks amazing! I decided to start painting with Vallejo acrylics after watching your vids. what do you use to clean up excess panel lines? I'm afraid whatever I use will get rid of the paint lol

I use turpentine. Before panel lining, do a gloss coat and make sure it’s cured to protect the paint and avoid smudging it

@@NicoSuratos Figures! though the kits exhibited there don't have the indication of the modelers or studio, the moment I saw the PG Perfectibility the depth of it's paintjob is very identical to the one that i watched here thinking it might be yours, and it is! dang I hope I got to see this and more of your works (not talking to you GBWC entry cuz its a given and I can't wait to see it 😜) in personal.

I have this conversion kit but I've never done anything with resin before. A bit nervous that my skill level isnt quite there.

I would recommend maybe testing out a smaller conversion kit or even a full resin kit like an HG or SD before tackling this one. This isn’t the best conversion kit especially for first timers

Hey Nico! Thanks so much for your videos, I've learned so much from you. I lost my cheap no-name chinese brand scriber so I wanted to use that as an excuse for getting a good scriber for beginners and I was thinking dspiae due to their handle being skinny and easier to grip. I wanted to ask if you could recommend me what size of chisels I should buy, maybe the 2 or 3 most popular sizes for panel lines, I was guessing 0.2mm and 0.15mm? Thanks

Yes 0.15 and 0.2 are the usual sizes. It usually mostly matches the existing panel lines as well that’s why. You can also get a 0.5 for notches, adds variety to your panel lines

It works for all scales. Either 1/144 or 1/100

What paint did you use? When i used vallejo on my resin kit, the edges faded while handling. Did you use a mask while sanding?

Vallejo Mecha Colors. Did you let the paint cure and varnish before handling? I use a respirator while sanding

@@NicoSuratos i used vallejo fantasy. I did let it cure before i used pre cut masking tape for the next color. Its then when the paint faded on the edges. So i did not use a clearcoat yet. Do you use clearcoat after every color before masking for the next color?

Yes I do varnish after every color just to protect the paint and for ease of mind when masking. Vallejo fantasy are great paints but they are undeniably much weaker than mecha colors since they are made for miniature figures so I would recommend varnishing after every color.

What HiRo Topcoat did you use Nico?

I didn’t use Hiro. I used Vallejo Mecha Satin Varnish

I have built sh kits in the past and found them very bad, they always seem to be too small and do not fit the model correctly.
