Problem is everyday the putter swing changes in the game. One day I pull putter back slow, it will stop and restart. I have to whip it back and pop forward like hitting a driver. Next day I can pull back slow but it won't hit ball, forcing me to go faster. I played all TGC games, using same controller, etc.. what is going on with this game as for putting? Thx

I run into that problem too. I find on the times I pull back and just let go of the stick it resets. I have to make sure to hit it fully forward back to 12 o clock ( on the joystick)

@@Ma_Kachada Tried all that, still won't hit the ball unless I go faster, almost to the point of out of control for a putter. But if I remember correctly, the devs can tweak the swing and putting on their end and not need a patch, so I just hope that is what they are doing to see it different everyday. Can't stand missing 4-6 strokes a round because the putting mechanism is broke/off.

Hi midKnight ..HEARTBREAK HEIGHTS wont be Not long now... Just tweaking the greens. and adding tournament crowds. Quite a unique course .. There are Some very unusal holes here,,, Lots of Roof top tees . and designer par 3s .. WARNING This Course may cause VERTIGO lol Playing with NO WIND will be a doddle... Pro difficulty is just hard period. I'm a fast swinger, but I'm starting to condition myself to slow down my forward swing so I can hit the get the perfect impact for the top meter. While I understand trying to adjust using shot shaping, it can complicate things if there are obstructions on either side of you or there is heavy wind. Regardless, there is no magical way or method to get your shots to go where you want them eveytime. You just have to practice to be more consistent. Stick accuracy (staying within the white vertical line with the analog stick) seems a lot more unforgiving as well.

Agree. I always played master clubs in TGC19 and was pretty fucking good. I do pro difficultly In this with no meters and it’s INSANE how bad I am at this game. It’s a roll of the dice what the speed is going to be. I feel like I am flicking it fast and I’ll get very slows and fasts seemingly randomly. The putting is ridiculous. If you push it even a tiny tiny bit it just misses a foot right. And that’s if by some miracle my putt speed is close to correct. I hate how much I hate this game.

I've noticed using the base clubs with higher forgiveness makes a huuuge difference (- 6 strokes from my experiment). The driver made a huge difference.. Maybe wait atleast until you shoot scratch before getting the higher their clubs.

@@jm3756 haha... You sound like me... I'm obsessed with getting better and I only play on pro because I want it to carry over to online play.. With that being said, I have 3 days of play and I'll be lucky to shoot better than +6... I'll end up 3 putting greens regularly, it's very hard to be consistent on this game..

I had no issues with tgc19. I finally turned the downswing timing off on 21 after a year of being stubborn! Just inconsistent. Plays different depending on which controller I use too. Calibration sometimes makes it worse. They made changes to the shot types and timing than Jennifer Lopez does men! Too many tweaks. Next game I hope they can be confident with what they release and leave it alone!!!!!!

Thanks for the tips. I was pushing the ball and tried to adjust my hand motion to correct it; then I realized I could rotate the controller slightly and that fixed my push.

The calibration tool is trash and doesn't do anything imo. I've been a gamer for around 30 yrs now and I gotta say, after giving it a chance multiple times I'm finally at the point where I won't even waste my time anymore with that thing. The game has just had an issue with being extremely sensitive when it comes to your follow thru and they've done nothing to fix that. I get the concept but it's sensitive far beyond the amount it should be. I shouldn't have to struggle to consistently hit perfect shots when my muscle memory has been where it should be a long time ago & any other game would acknowledge that. It's 2k so that in and of itself isn't starting out very high from a quality perspective.

The skill level doesn't effect calibration. The skill level will only increase or decrease your white meter. I calibrate every time I log in or if I have a bad round.

You can unlock or buy different clubs under the Myplayer and golf bag. Some have more range and some are more forgiving and such. You can choose the one that fits you there.

If you're on the green that's called the putting grid. If you're everywhere else that is the lie grid. Turn on lie grid in your settings. Hit the option button on the controller and go to difficulty

Does is this apply to PS5 controllers? Because they are adaptive controllers that adjust to the players trigger pressure and so on. I haven’t had any problems and I play on Very Hard, and seem to be winning on every event.

I've played routinely worse since calibrating. Worst thing I ever did. Then you CANNOT go back. Once you calibrate, if you don't like it, too bad. Do NOT calibrate.

So this has been of great help and will put it to the test later. However, I can't stop the blue line turning into a u shape. No matter what I do, even on beginner it does a very weird swing thing and all I do is move the analogue stick back and forth. I can't be competitive on any level. I've tried calibration loads of times but doesn't seem to make much difference. Wish they just made it so the club follows the analogue stick to match speed and how you swing. I'll try calibrating every time I log in and rest the controller flat. Thanks.

Once you find a good calibration. Stick with it. Also try using the left stick as an options or a two finger approach

I did manage to greatly improve my score on pro from about +94 to +43 and then +30. Putting really let me down as well lol but as least most of my tee shots were at least close to the fairway instead of 100 miles left or right. Thanks.

Why would you calibrate your swing every time. Its’s like if you would switch sensetivity every time loading into CSGO. It’s all about muscle memory.

Yes, it is about muscle memory, but that doesn't mean your muscles are firing on all cylinders everyday. Think of this example: A basketball jumpshot is muscle memory but somedays you're shooting short and some days long, so you have to adjust your game accordingly. In this game somedays you may be mentally faster or slower than the day before so why not calibrate to adjust to each day.

I personally really love the ps5 controller. I think it's one of the best controllers out there for all systems. Personally, I have not tested much, so my suggestions are limited.

I am a lefty who started right away using left stick. I kept pushing it right constantly. I switched to right stick and just use my left thumb on right stick. Sounds weird, but after watching this I understand why now. Doing it how I am now makes sure I am holding my controller flat now since it's held with one hand. Before I think I was tilting it so I pushed up to the right. So for others...don't be afraid to experiment. Figure out how to consistently go straight up and down first, then timing afterwards.

Yes, but just know due to latency issues with the game the calibration may not feel the same. One downside to the game. I can play a local match, online, and society: each mode my swing timing will feel different.

I can't seem to get the calibration to work. Whatever I do, I still get mostly "slow" unless I really flick it forward as fast as I absolutely can (causing a loud "smack!" from the controller), and then I can get "perfect". I have never seen "fast". And I've run calibration many times. My only solution is to run on a lower difficulty to widen the "perfect" area. I don't get it.

I still tend towards the "slow" on my strokes, but at least it seems to be in the gray area and not the red slows (as they are awful) Your videos are very helpful! Thank you!

Such a quality vid and advice here especially to those new to the series (like me!) So important to those having issues with swinging to make sure you’re squared up to the TV, controller level and facing the TV. Really helped me cleaning up my swing plane. Timing I’m still on or off. Feels like I have days or even hours where I’m just on fire with tempo...other times just WAYYY off. I’ve calibrated a few times and dunno if it’s a placebo but feels like it’s getting more and more refined. Keep in mind this is my first TGC game and it’s taken me to about level 25 to really start feeling somewhat comfortable in how I’m holding my controller and swinging.

It's confusing when you say "Fast Swing, Slow Swing" it's not the speed of the swing it's the speed of transition. Fast transition will create pulls and or pull hooks, slow transition will create pushes or push fades.

Absolutely, correct. I only reference Fast swing, slow swing because that is the words used above the shot meter. The swing is not about the backswing speed, but more of the speed of the transition from down to up.
