PGA Tour 2K23 Updated Wishlist and Expectations

A few months back without knowing anything about PGA Tour 2K23 I created a wishlist ( • The PGA Tour 2K23 Wish... ) for features I would love to see in the next 2K golf video game. Using that video as well as suggestions from the community I have created an updated wishlist and what we expect to be in 2K23.
In the past few weeks we have learned so much about PGA Tour 2K23 with their official gameplay trailer release ( • PGA TOUR 2K23 | Offici... ) and with the info trickling through 2K golf's social media channels as well as the 2K Next Maker's.

My wishlist: 1. Be able to setup a tournament where I can play live with friends. 2. More flexibility in modes (e.g. scramble with 3 people). 3. Modes like scramble where you can fill in slots with an AI. 4. Career mode where you can play live with friends. 5. Better physics and collision detections (e.g. no more having a ball fall through objects like rocks). 6. Gusty and swirling winds rather than a static wind. 7. Different wind zones (e.g. Wind blocked by treeline but not when the ball is above that tree line). This is very easy to do in Unity.

Adding a custom made solo society that was in TGC 2019, but not in 2k21. And or the ablility to change user created courses in Career Mode.

Yes definitely bring back some things from 2019 would be nice. I'd like to think those are easy fixes too.

Hi - would love to see the addition of "practice Rounds" and "mulligans" - similar to WGT. That way you can really refine your game before you play an official comp or your career mode. I doubt it will happen somehow?? Cya

maybe a feature to place a ball in a certain place of the course to practice a particular shot... (i.e. a tough approach shot). Love the ideas

What about fixing swing issues in multiplayer when I join or set a party for online only the host of the party has consistent fast slow swing other party member is subject to high fast or slow shots. When I swap party host I lose the consistency and the new leader is more consistent I have tested this a lot and it’s a real issue I can’t see this being fixed as they don’t use dedicated servers 😡

i personally have not experienced this but for those who have it is clearly a major issue. Online gaming is critical to have functioning correctly and hope they dedicate some solid resources to 2k23 and future games.

It would be sweet if you can safe dificulty settings for a casual game with some friends.....it´s so annoying that you have to set up this every fucking time. argh. Also cool would be something where you have a chance to rejoin a game when your game crashed....in a couple games this is possible....for example, you have 1 minute time to rejoin the party and not the whole game is over just because one guy has a disconnect.

I would like to see time lapse during the course of a round like if you start late afternoon, the sun is setting for the last few holes. Would also like to be able to move where you tee up the ball in the tee box.

@@Kilbride10 i think the devs just care abour the ideas, when you are a big KZbin-Creator or one of the biggest designers. I think the community has a lot great ideas for the next game but they never get some attention. hot take. ^^

What do you think of the chances where you can play a career mode with multiple seasons and world ranking points that recors your wins throughout your career and that carry onto the next season so you can create a legacy for yourself? That is the main thing i am looking for as just playing one season is pointless if I'm spending £50 on it.

My best guess is they will not have WGR in game. Hopefully some progression on your career like awards to have multiple players championships or sometihng. Career mode should definitely be expanded no doubt. Fingers crossed they will add something to reward season over season growth

Great Video! I have a question in your opinion do you think you will be able to choose the 3 click or analog swing in Tgctours. I think that would be great and to follow up on the last question do you yourself think they should let you choose your swing in Tgctours ? Thanks

Thats a great question and I think the answer is likely a mix between yes and no. If i had to guess I would say yes on the CC levels. As you move towards the higher end tours I think it will be a struggle to leave that option open. I could see the potential for leaving it open if the difficulty level is increased to a point where the 3 click is not "automatic" for the pro tour players and therefore would make you lean strongly towards choosing the analog. (I think it would be similar to Meter pitching vs. Pinpoint pitching in MLB the Show... at the higher levels everyone chooses the pinpoint pitching as the meter is so fast that it becomes a less desirable option)

@@Kilbride10 I think the only way to balance tgctours between playstation and Xbox is through 3 click. I hope they have multiple levels within that system as well. Beginner, pro, and master 3 click would be awesome

Handicap golf, we want handicap golf fixed.

Handicap system is so broken. I try to co manage a society using TGC tours flights as a benchmark for handicapping. Seems a much better way than the in-game. If they were able to fix in game it would be much better.

Indeed. Perhaps there is a slightly better mechanism in 23. Like most that aren’t confirmed.. I feel like there is a strong possibility of patches this go around and could be a post launch update 🤞🤞🤞

@@Kilbride10 that is the thing I want to see most. Patches and adjustments. They have way more to balance this year with head, shaft, and grip mods..not to mention those new skills. I hope they don't take 6 months if issues arise
