I am a football coach, and been doing it, since I stop play semi professional football at age of 20, because of a injury. I would love to have a debate with Mr Gallagher about the this exact situation. My point, is when you put your foot stopping the left foot, which is ahead, the right foot, more precisely the knee immediately going to hit Rubens leg, making the attacking player loose balance. Not because his happy tod fall , but because his right foot automatically get stuck in Ruben's leg. Tell him to try that, and see what will happen to him. Your balance depends on the leg controlling your body. Mr Gallagher should do more sprint ( yes I did athletics to while playing football) in order to learn that. This coming for me , 50 years old, football coach and a very devoted Liverpool FC fan. Too much corruption and racism you don't see on tv, in English football. I said it 3 years ago, them watching referees going to Saudi to referee games for the same people that own City. My point is . As a coach that have been coaching in England for 23 years. I want PGMOL, to prove me wrong about my comment. Gomez ignored penalty that no one on media wants to talk about. Someone step on Diaz boot, it's a penalty, and clumsy tackle on Gomez it's not. Make me and all football supporters understand. Because we are all getting lost. They can punish me if they want too. But I am fed up of the racism and corruption in English football and Politics.

Last season at the Emirates City got away with 3 leg breakers because the ref/VAR "didn't want to affect a game of that magnitude" and PGMOL got away with it because we scraped a winning goal. This season at City every opportunity to card and send off an Arsenal player was done with no hesitation, a game we were dominating and leading in. Funny how the "don't want to affect the game" mantra only comes in in City's big matches and always benefits City. Funny that. Happened the season before too, no hesitation sending off an Arsenal player playing against City in a critical game in the run in, didn't mind affecting matches and league outcomes the refs that day. 3 leg breaker tackles, 1 yellow card. Should have been 2 straight reds (2 leg breakers by one player, yellow card for the second) and 2 extended bans for violent conduct is what the rules dictate, not enforced by the self proclaimed "letter of the law" brigade.

PGMOL got away with their attempt to corrupt the match because we scraped a shitty winner at the end. Same excuse was used "we didn't want to affect a match of this magnitude", yeah, 3 Arsenal players could have had their careers ended that afternoon. The year before, in the run in in, no hesitation for a straight red against Arsenal for a poor but no where near as bad challenge as any of those 3, early in the game too. This year, a sending off just before half time for a nothing incident, again no hesitation affecting a match at City we were dominating in and winning., none. The refs only hesitate if the foul is by a City player, 3 years in a row we've had these and yes, they probably have cost us 2 league titles.

I am an Arsenal fan. Every team has been a victim of these pathetic officials. It's genuinely taken the excitement of watching my team away. Your team could have played really well, but you can't really enjoy the performance because at the back of your mind you know that this ref can easily take the game away from you. There needs to be less over analyzing the game, It should be simple, "Did Diaz illegally stop Hojlund from getting to the ball?" Yes. Penalty. Simple. Refs play the occasion, they make up new rules at the start of every season, then abandon them half way, they are constantly protected when they've made wrong calls, its' actually ruining the league, I feel no joy when my team scores a goal because I know the ref could easily chalk the goal off. This is just as a fan. Imagine how the players and coaches feel, you prepare all week for a massive game, then you are not given a fair chance to compete because the ref is not well equipped to make sure he lets the game play out fairly. It's pathetic.

What concerns me is the statement that this kind of decision 'doesn't get given in these kind of game's'. How wrong that is that there are rules for different games. It shouldn't matter if it's a derby, a top of the table clash, a relegation battle or an underage clash, the rules are the same and a penalty is a penalty. If you slide in, trip the player AND THE BALL IS STILL IN THEIR POSSESSION, then that's a penalty! You need to WIN the ball. If you don't win the ball, then it's a penalty if you take the player out! But it's become a bigger crock than just one guy in the middle using poor judgement in the moment and making bad calls. I truly believe it has been actively used to manufacture 'desired results'. Depending on what two teams are on the pitch and what outcome better suits the larger vision. If it looks like match fixing, and smells like it's match fixing, you've gotta call it match fixing.

Ii have coached played and refereed, as a youngster I was taught, do not hold players in the penalty area because it is a penalty, why is there never 10 penalties in every game just from holding from corners and freekicks also a keeper jumping into an attacking player is not a free kick for the keepers, yet in every game the keeper doing that is protected.

Lifetime Liverpool fan, first time in my life, i was cheering for Utd. I couldn't believe that wasn't given as a penalty. Why no one really goes in on the refs in these shows, blows my mind. They could have a field day with them, if someone just had the balls to do it.

I think fans are finally starting to get to the point where they've had enough of City & their cheating since the charges have come out, regardless of rivalries. They get away with so much & any team that's close to them gets the PGMOL treatment. I'm an Arsenal fan but I was cheering every one of those Spurs goals at the Etihad.
@marnfulda1758Күн бұрын
Well done Terry for this. We should all really keep putting the PGMOL under pressure because they are running the game the way THEY want it to. Keep at it Terry you are talking sense , I'm a Liverpool fan by the way.

Robertson got sent off for far less in a challenge that was neither a penalty nor a goalscoring opportunity, City does worse and injures a player and the City player doesn't even see yellow... I'm telling you now, City tried to do LFC over through the PGMOL, but they still couldn't win. What else explains all these clear biased decisions that mostly favour City by a mile? 13/14 Sterling gets blatantly fouled in the box by a City player, no penalty, game ends in a draw, LFC would've and should've won the league... 21/22 Spurs away game, Jones gets sent off for nothing, Diaz was clearly onside but goal gets chalked off as offside by VAR, LFC don't get a point that would've and should've won us the league... 23/24 the Doku high boot that was clearly a penalty, not given, City go on to win another undeserved league title with 130 charges against them for cheating. Forget about the PGMOL, why does the EPL allow this? Why do they expect any football fan to watch their tripe? Lol I'm absolutely sick of it and done.

As a city fan I totally agree that is a penalty. The problem is there is no questioning and there is no accountability from refs. No one should disagree as the ones who do are part of the problem. The reffing standards have dropped significantly since VAR because they rely on VAR. Now Howard Webb is trying to prevent VAR rereffing games the issues are becoming magnified. I genuinely think I could do a better job running VAR than the current options they have. Would love for them to hold open tryouts for VAR as there is no fitness required. Keeping it all in house is part of the issue. They need to separate VAR and refs as they are completely different jobs. Just because someone is a decent ref on the pitch doesn't mean they have the ability to watch the game on a monitor and review decisions correctly. Definitely need a revamp and a new body to oversee VAR outside PGMOL

Liverpool supporter here, that is a stone wall penalty. Do not tell any one but I cheered when Manure beat the plastic club, I look forward to the battles in the future between our great clubs, okay manure ain't that great, only Liverpool is 😋. I've given up on the referees when it comes to Liverpool, I know they are going to fuck us at every opportunity, so I just add the ref/linesmen to the opponents. It is so rare now that I see a fair ref I have given up on them, the only time I respect the refs now is in the champions league as they can be harsh on both side, the British refs are a bloody bad joke.
