In a galvanic cell oxidation takes place at the cathode and reduction takes place at the anode. In the electrolytic cell it is the other way.

Zinc becoming zinc ion and iron becoming ferrous ion ,both are oxidations and the potentials are only oxidation potentials.It has been wrongly mentioned as reduction potentials.you have to remember that the std oxidation potential of zinc electrode is 0.76 volt.

Sir, one doubt in emf of cell calculation.. E cell=E(cathode) - E(anode). then substitute tha value we get E cell=1.08 - 0.34=+ 0.74.is that correct sir?

No. Ecell= Eox LHE +EredRHE. For Cd/Cd2+ Eox is 1.08. Ered of Cu+2/Cu is 0.34. Ecell=1.08+0.34=1.42V
