Phaidia debuted in 1980 as one of the pillars of the death rock movement in Japan and anywhere else, that's my opinion. ☺😊

Finally, an actual Japanese Goth band that isn't just a metal band with the Goth tag. Does this mean that somewhere underground in Japan a Goth scene exists?

If you are in Japan try the Tokyo Dark Castle events, if not then follow them on facebook and check out the flyers to see the active TRUE goth bands (not visual kei bands) I know Madame Edwarda, Automod, and Kozi are all still active. They have some good industrial bands such as 2Bullet if you are into that genre of goth as well.

Maybe it reminds you of christian death bcs of rozz's voice, i can hear the similarity but the music is very different. The band Martyr whore are more in the style of rozz's christian death. You should check it out(:

The look they had is more like the band Specimen not rozz williams nore the band. Just my opinion

This is fucking sweet. It sounds like the dark heaviness of crust punk with catchy vocals. It sucks they only did one album, I’d love more like this.
@jen81774 жыл бұрын
Had no idea they were Japanese the first time I listened to their music!! I genuinely thought they were British because it’s rare to find authentically GOTH Japanese bands that aren’t actually vkei
@NikolasMitsugui4 жыл бұрын
If you haven't listened to Kokushoku Elegy, G-schmitt and The Lautrec I highly recommend you to check them out. There is also Gille' Loves, but that's a little V-kei.

vkei isnt a music genre, it’s a way of dressing. a wide range of dressing at that ! there’re pop vkei bands, metal vkei bands, n goth vkei bands. it’s not exclusive to anything
@barfyman-wn3id Жыл бұрын
@@goldchu5907 Vkei is a music genre. Too many sounds exclusive to that scene to say it isn't a music genre.

I don't know why, but when I looed at the cover, I could feel the "Visual Kei vibes"(something different...)

Well V-kei took a LOT of inspo from gothic looks of all kind and deathrock just so happens to fit under that category so it’s not surprising you’d see some similarities :)

Bauhaus has a more softer tune to it, in my opinion; Cinema strange is more closely fit in to compare.~
@LaurenRichardsEvans7 жыл бұрын
Phaidia are death rock, which is as a genre is more punk sounding than goth rock, which is closer to alternative and art rock combined. Phaidia are the Japanese counterpart of Specimen, Christian Death and early works of The Damned.
