That was one of the most creative second stages to a boss fight I've ever seen, the remaining minions literally controlling him like a puppet. If all of the bosses have this level of depth and creativity to them this game is going to be outstanding. I loved Sekiro and thought I'd enjoy soulslikes but the stamina meter is something I really don't like which is why I play games like Thymesia, Ghost of Tsushima, Wo long Fallen Dynasty and other games that focus on methodical, but fast gameplay. It's worth mentioning that Lies of P is a really good game but it's just too slow for me and further confirms that I don't enjoy soulslikes. Excited for this one.

I like the idea of the "red string of fate" being used as puppet strings here. If these creatures are jiangshi--Chinese folklore zombies--then it only adds to the symbolism! The red string represents a connection between two people that would bring them back together. Here though, it's used to bring the corpses back to life and eventually hold what's left of the disciple in the second phase of the boss fight. However much hope the disciple had was lost as they became a slave or puppet to the very thing they was hoping out for. Maybe regret from their human life?

Guarding mechanism in this game is a bit different. You hold the button to guard (or should I say parry?) attacks from all direction at the cost of continuously depleting your stamina; on the other hand there is timed guard mechanism as well.

Usually when a boss fight has mobs I just think to myself of how lazy the devs are because the mobs usually don’t do anything that a group would realistically fight, no coordination. But the mobs here have synergo and actually makes sense. 10/10 boss fight.
