No matter what FPS game you play, there are the good weapons, and there are the bad weapons.
Whether it’s Twitch’s F2 in Rainbow Six or the ever-GOATed AK in CS:GO, there are weapons that we make sacrifices to get in our hands.
And yet, in the history of Valorant, one question has plagued every player that’s ever queued into a server -- Phantom or Vandal?
In this video, we're aiming to answer that ever-present question.

The fact that so many people are split on whether the Vandal or Pantom are better than each other shows that they're balanced very well. Both are very viable options that depend on play style and that kind of balancing is fantastic

Due to the fact that the RNG is more consistent than the net code. You can shoot someone twice in the head with the Phantom and it’ll miss reg as wall bang especially when you do counter strafe correctly vs chance to one shot headshot but hit body.

I recently became a Vandal main and it's been great for me, and this is a big reason why. If you are going to stand in no man's land with no cover, crouch, and empty a full clip at the other team, the Phantom is better. But putting yourself in that position in the first place is just bad gameplay and you're going to get punished for it more often than not. Vandal is built for disciplined, conservative peeks that give you the best percentage of winning fights.

Which doesn’t make any sense anyway, but I’m not going to try to fight you over the basic tenants of FPS games. Waste of my time. Let me simplify my argument so Valorant players such as yourself can understand - ONE headshot killing a enemy play in ONE hit kills said enemy player FASTER than TWO shots where not only does the first shot have to hit the head, the second has to hit the body. The phantom might work fine in Valorant right now but trust me, as the player base gets better at the game the consistency of the phantom will be irrelevant because player skill will make up the difference. It doesn’t matter if your gun is technically more consistent if you’re already dead because the enemy PLAYER is more consistent. Essentially enjoy using the phantom while you can, it’ll probably last a while but it won’t last forever (unless of course there are balance patches but frankly I think that is a given).

Another consideration in this conversation is the money of the other team. If the enemy are likely to have half armor and pistols/smgs even at long range the phantom is better as it is going to kill even from the 140, faster kill speed on body shots onto 100 hp targets as well obviously

Usually whenever i have bad aim while playing valorant, i just use the phantom since the spray pattern is basically an easier version of the vandal's spray pattern but most of the time, i just use the vandal because i just like using it. Honestly, both guns are great in my opinion, just depends on playstyle or the map i guess.

Imo is Phantom vs Vandal just sometimes a feeling thing. Vandal is definitely better on Breeze but the Phantom spray transfers are also important soo: Both weapons have their own advantage so it's also a question of "where are you playing?". I think both are good guns.

I think it's about perspective. Just in our 5 stack lobby, we have dudes just plays only with vandal. And dudes plays only with phantom. For me it's about which map you are playing. I usually plays only vandal on breeze and icebox. And rest is phantom.

It's all about the skin ur using man. If I'm on SOL vandal I'm hitting taps across the map, but when I'm on the elderflame, I'm spraying and dying. Even with a phantom, when I'm on the oni, I tend to whiff but when I'm on the prime, I'm spray transferring like 3 ppl.

Sometimes it comes with the confidence feel. If you feel like not stressing yourself out, just go with phantom. If you feel ballsy and tap heads or just love the heavy dps feel, go vandal. I'm miles more consistent with the Vandal. In every situation the Vandal is the better weapon for me. I've tried to use the Phantom COUNTLESS times and my spray control is so shit I hit 140s all the time and the next 5 bullets hit behind my enemy and then I just drop dead. Same goes for multiple targets, If I hit a one tap on the first guy he dies, I hit a one tap on the second guy, he dies too. With the Phantom, I hit a double tap on the first guy's head, I dink the second guy for 140 and my 2nd bullet goes 3 feet above him because it hasn't fully reset yet and my spray control is ASS. I'm going to give the Phantom another chance after this video though, hopefully it goes better this time. For reference I'm Gold 2 right now, been playing for 2 months, 28.6% HS%

if you treat the phantom as the way you play the vandal, you’ll be much more consistent with it. last season i had 35% hs rate with a vandal and 26% with a phantom but the phantom one is when i have a good game as an initiator/controller/sentinel main. those vandal kills were less than a hundred of that phantom kills. ik what technique you do with a vandal. 2 bullet bursts at a time. that’s the same with the phantom. i always isolate 1v1 whenever i can so i can avoid spraying with both rifles. i usually avoid the duel when i hit -140 or -124 with a phantom and retreat. yeah yeah hitting -140 is lame but when you get used to the phantom bursts, it becomes better because it’s statistically more accurate than the vandal (the first shot accuracy)

For me it just depends on my mood and the skin. For like three months I went vandal straight bc I got the sentinals of light for it and I only had the battle pass phantom. I'd never recommend phantom to a beginner. It develops the habit of spraying and forgives you for not having your crosshair at head level. I went from a 10% hs to roughly 30% in low ranks just exclusively using vandal. Phantom is the better weapon, but I'd recommend it to players diamond and above, and of course is the pro's choice of rifle, but vandal teaches you how to play the game. When you transfer all that knowledge onto the Phantom you'll see way better results rather than just using Phantom to compensate your crosshair placement or abuse the randomness of running and gunning. This video should not encourage those kind of things for new players, cause more people behave like that, more random and less competitive the game will be. Other than this, great video indeed and yes, again, Phantom is the better overall choice for almost every situation.

If you actually unbind crouch for sometime your eyes will actually start bleeding when you try to spray with vandal so that will force you to burst (100% recommend and can deliver results in a short amount of time)

It actually just depends on your style. If you have the best crosshair placement and always get taps you use t he vandal. If you spray and control the recoil and do more with spray, You use the phantom. Ifyou want a gun that doesnt show spray, use the phantom. if you want more bullets, use the phantom. if you want a loud gun, use tha vandal.

As a main awper I have to say that Vandal is absolutely better in many situations with agents like Jett, Reyna and Chamber that play for picks and try to carry round some. I use it like an awp, play aggro and get out after the headshot.I feel like every one else should play phantom but these 3 in particular are smooth af woth the vandal if you're good enough

Close map ~Short range~Enemy Rush= Phantom Hard push ~1 Tap~ long range~ site rush = Vandal Note : Awp ~jett~Reyna = High KD Always and always remember that!!

Different situations require different guns. My preference is on short ranged map i use a phantom like split, but on long ranged maps like breeze/icebox i use a vandal.

I use Vandals and Guardians to train accuracy. When i want to hard carry on Reyna, using ur ult with a Phantom, you just cant beat that.
