When I find, such a gem, I (now days) always forget the location and route there. So, ((IN ADVANCE, I AM SORRY)) Besides, it's all green screen now days in this "Bizzarro world" we are living in. It has to be! So, bother not asking location as it only exists in my he-ead, in my, he-e-ah-ead.

Love the video! I'm happy you're not sharing where this waterfall is, especially considering how close it is to the trail. Good idea climbing above it! I'll have to do that next time I'm up there.

What a great trip, beautiful campsite. Perfect time of year to be in this area. Poison oak everywhere... didn't stop you guys. 👍 That monster log was cool. Enjoyed watching, thank you for sharing. Take care Alan. 🇺🇲

Wow! looked like another great trip. But I have to say I started breaking out in a rash just watching everyone walk through all that poison oak. Hope everyone is ok, and thanks for sharing.

It's taken me about 45 years but I think I finally built up a wall against it. I actually touched it pinched the leaf and didn't get rash. I walked right through it. A lot of what you're seeing is also Berry Vines, it's not all poison-oak there are also many blackberry vines intermix

My favorite time of the year in the canyon's. The spring grass popping up everywhere making a carpet of green. Loved the video, the sound of the river in the background takes me back in time. Dam I miss that area !!

Another fantastic video Alan. The shots of the of the old Alpine Tavern building in the "then" and the ones of the way it looks today were a real eye opener for me. Time can take such a heavy toll obviously. That is a beautiful and very interesting area for certain. Great times with great friends. Thanks once again for allowing us to tag along with you. See you on the next one.

Thank you. In just a few decades, I've seen massive changes all around me. Things and knowledge well known to ALL kids from my generation, have all become forgotten Andorra relevant to today's youth. This is how things get lost forever. I'm sure one day some Egyptian kids said dad I don't want to know how the pyramids were built, I want to go out and do a little rock chucking, or something close to that

I've been an outdoor adventure guy for six years now and am just now starting to get a grip on reading maps and what-not. What would be a good resource for the San Gabriels for when I am finally able to make it back out to southern Calidfornia? I seem to remember something called Maps of the Angeles or Trails of the Angeles,,,.
@PHARRAOH
@PHARRAOH 2 жыл бұрын
Trails of the Angeles by John W Robinson it's out of print but you can still find it and it comes with a map but if the map is not there you can buy them at separate. That is the best book you can buy for the San Gabriel mountains

Always cool to see you out enjoying your local mountains! You ever go up and hike around camp high hill! It was my 6th grade camp off hwy 2. They have closed it down and boarded it up but there's good hiking around there in fact you have to hike in to the camp. We use to hike to a spring up a rope and put our mouth right to it and guzzle it. See you soon man. Joe gold
