As usual, Mojaxx is spot on. My experience is exactly the same -occasional dodgy cue drift (and even then, only slight, and not always), but for the most part, very stable and dependable. Prior to HID update the cue drift was a deal breaker for me, so I parked 'em and waited. Since the HID update, I'm actually using my Phase now, and loving it! Thanks for all the hard work MWM

I have phase. I use it with rekordbox. I have ZERO issues with drift. I also use Technics sl-1200 mk7s. Its about as "perfect" as it can be. I'm beyond happy with them.

Got my units 6 month ago. As Mojaxx said, using them became second nature, no issue at all and a reliable, great experience. Really nice you did a second review, I think MWM deserved that after putting in a lot of work to make Phase better over time.

I've been using Phase for about a year - it works great. I think they only way to truly stop the drift is by enabling Phase to be used with Serato's Internal Mode (similar to how controllers work).

In my opinion, Phase is very good for HipHop, scratch techniques etc... No problem of latency or cue point. But for electronic music (house dance etc...), I find that BPM is not precise enought. I have no problem with real vinyls, but often some difficulties to keep tempo with Phase.

I really appreciate this update Mojaxx! I've been eagerly following the Phase DJ updates over the years, and it does seem like most of the issues have been sorted. It's still hard to justify a purchase since I have a bunch of cartridges and spare styli. But if I had the money to throw at it, it would definitely take a lot of potential issues out of using turntables as DVS interface. The big one is eliminating the need to isolate the turntables really well to avoid feedback. Another is not worrying about condition of turntables/cables/grounding causing noises. Another is not wearing out styli or getting your headshell connector pins dirty sticking into spit-filled tonearms - IF you don't plan to play any real vinyl. The price has seemed to go down a little (at least in Australia) recently, it's still a bit too expensive for me but it's on the wishlist. The only downside I see with Phase.. a bigger target for theft at the club. I'd be keeping a close eye on my bag/gear or putting it behind the bar if I had phase, more so than styli which are a bit harder to resell.

Last year Phase had a great deal for Black Friday. Phase essential for $200 if I remember correctly. Hopefully it returns this year! I will definitely be buying a pair if the sale returns.

It's good, but could still use some improvements. Especially the Cue point drift and the BPM is sometimes off and significantly different on each deck when you have doubles.

I’m glad you mentioned that! Same here! It’s seems that most people that do Phase reviews not big on mixing just scratching. I find it to be a huge adjustment and really makes me uncomfortable using them streaming a set other than just playing around with them. I got mines 2 weeks ago and the BPM doesn’t really hold and at times all over the place. I’m using Technics SL-1200m3D

@@ValonHonor I've gotten more use to it and it seems like it got better after the last update, but if the song is 96 bpm. It should not be playing at 95.2 and then when loaded on the other side at 95.7 or even something like 96.5.

@@Playboysnow that’s exactly what I’m going through. It’s so annoying because I live for a tight blend when mixing. I even had time the bpm would change while already playing. Again I wish KZbinr put more focus on every aspect of djing not just scratching. I know dope Dj’s that can scratch but can’t blend a mix to save their lives.

Have you used Serato with time code vinyls before, and if so is Phase an improvement for the BPM stability at all? Have been using Serato+SL4 and time code vinyls for a long time and the BPM fluctuation is the only thing I have a problem with. Just doing beat mixing.

Phase is a weird one for me. A friend let me borrow it and I am vinyl only mixing Techno/electronic music. I don't like CDJs so this is a compromise, but without a controller mixer this isn't the smoothest experience especially when cuing up a new track. Vinyl DVS systems in Absolute Mode allow you to cue like you would with normal vinyl, but then you struggle with feedback, dirt, stylus and more. For home use it's nice not having to worry about messing up my stylus when I'm DJing with a few too many alcoholic beverages. I use it with Mixx btw, since I don't have the money for any other software.

Hi, please check Phase with analog mixers which is club standard like A&H Xone 96. There is a big issue like background noise when you connect the Phase to the mixer using RCA cables. So, pls conncet the phase to Xone 96, put the faders and volum UP without play a track and let me know if you hear the backgroud noise. I tried also to xone 43 and the same issue. Thank you !

I use a MacBook Pro charger, as I happen to have one. But if I was buying one specifically for the job, I would definitely look at other brands, as you’ll certainly find a suitable power delivery adapter at a much lower price.

Hi Guys, purchased Phase today and works fine in HID mode with Serato but I am a Rekordbox user and it doesnt seem to be working. I have the latest version of Rekordbox 6.6.4 which doesnt have the option to push the line signal in the DVS setting (there is nowhere to select phono or line) - everything is set up correctly, RCAs into line in channel 1 and 2 and I am in relative mode and I also pay for the sub allowing DVS (works fine with needles and timecode vinyl - just no Phase signal whatsoever.) I am using a DDJ XZ - again everything works as it should with DVS and Rekordbox DVS vinyl just not picking up Phase at all. I dont want to switch to Serato so may return the product - can you help at all. Thanks, Matt

I love mine. I actually had gotten the rane 12 on backorder when they first came out. By the time I had gotten them which took almost a year if not a year. I had done some research on the phase.. When I finally got the rane 12. I ended up sending it back and got the phase. The updates have really brought them up to speed. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is. if they go to sleep from lack of platter movement. How do wake them up without having to place them back on the receiver? And it would have been nice if they had included a case. Im just saying.

My setup is 37 years hold, 2 Technics 1210MK2 and a Numark 19975A and they still operate flawlessly after thousands of events. No firmware updates needed only skills are required...

As a long time vinyl DJ (from late 1980s) with a pair of 1200 Mk2s dont you find the vinyl so heavy to lug around ? Im in process of digitizing my favourite tunes and using Serato and old Vestax VCI400 with a 2011 Macbook 17 inch. This setup cost about $9000 cheaper than a pair of CDJ3000 and NX9000 mixer - puts the tunes together quite well :)

@@ebull666 Well I started DJing in NY / NJ in 1978 and yes it is heavy but that what work is. Nothing wrong with technology as I am heavily invested in it. Everyone wants to be a DJ but 1200's are what separate the skilled from the posers, why? because its difficult. But this is the start of things to come, as companies like Virtual DJ are already talking about imbedding AI into their Software / Hardware to replace Human interaction and this makes it easy for all to be a so called DJ. which of course spells profit and the fall of the true Art Form....

@@rogerdjs Funny Im so used to mixing vinyl that I find digital mixing harder, the feel of cog wheel is just different, I just ride the 1200s pitch fader, not so easy when the track has tempo changes ! Im thinking of trying DVS to keep the same feel. Where the modern technology helps is things like auto loops or hot cues. I have all these records where extending them out requires either 2 copies - not always possible, or I used to use a Roland SP808 with banks of my fav beats, labour intensive and can kill the spontaneity. Speaking of the true art, not sure of your preferred styles but I think some of the highest art in some WBLS mixed tapes from the likes of Tony Humphries, Roman Ricardo from late 80s early 1990s, would be 3-4 deck madness, so much going on in them. That was one of the things that inspired me to leave Australia and live in NYC/NJ for a few years. Saw Tony Humphries at Zanzibar in NJ a few times !

Can you use phase with 4 vinyl decks ? Or with a 4 channel dvs mixer? I have a rmx90dvs and the sound quality of my Numark Ttx tonearm can’t keep up, I want to connect 2x TTX with phase and 2x CDJ with control discs to the RMX90 dvs . Is that possible?

What I've noticed with phase I don't know if its my Serato dj, when I use the sync function I notice a cue drifting as soon as I turn of the sync function on my Serato dj the cue drift doesn't occur anymore.

I've found similar. Sync definitely seems to effect a lot of things in Serato DJ Pro with DVS. I'm not quite sure how.

@@samrogers7657 if you do fast mixing/scratching/drop ins, using the sync function could make it a lot faster when you’re mixing in songs that are on different bpm….. it’s a function that the almighty Dj Craze uses and you don’t have to criticise the usage.

Oh crap, I was thinking 'the ultimate pack could be good for 3-4 deck mixing' but then realised NO, you'd need to buy two sets of phase, and the software wouldn't allow you to connect two units. PHASE!! Listen to this! Make a small run of 4x slot/stick sets.. to be used simultaneously. Obviously might need to update integration to softwares.. but 3-4 deck Phase sounds amazing.

Nope.. not a dependable product regardless of updates ect.. . Wireless garbage. Wireless /timecode - ect drift, battery issues, interference, ect.. not for me . I use cables and direct connections for safety and highest sound quality. It is a cool toy though. Your Mom or pet can now DJ to a rapt tiktok audience !! Why do you want your environment to be wireless? you are swimming in a sea of energy waves you cannot see but have implications. thanks for your efforts though..seems DJing with turntables is wanting to become something virtual.
