Use your Thunderbolt port for the external drive. If it's an older laptop you'll have a firewire port and that's still way faster than using any of your usb ports. The adapters are inexpensive nowadays 👍

Does Phase eliminate the fluttering BPM in the Serato DJ Pro software you get with using analogue Technics turntables & DVS control vinyl? If they do, does it even eliminate the fluttering BPM using a digital file ripped from vinyl? Thanks

@@digitaldjtips - My thinking is that you wouldn't have the object on the record, you wouldn't have to worry about charging and you could easily switch between conventional vinyl (which the Rane can't). My ears are too sensitive for the constant tone that you get emitting from the stylus on a control vinyl, so I love the Phase idea. The only thing missing (other than the above) is needle tracking. Don't get my wrong - i'm 100% behind the product. I love the ingenuity.

Thinking about this a bit deeper - the platter idea wouldn't work as the platter remains spinning whilst you hold a record. :D

As long as your Serato already lets you use whatever hardware you want to use this with, you won't need anything extra to use Phase

Humm still little bit confusing. I have Serato full access by paying monthly fee (SERATO DJ SUITE), it includes everything from Serato Pro to DVS to FCX etc... If Phase can control Serato play stop, pitch etc... No need for any sound-card right? since I use standard mixer (Mastersound mixer) I have to use Denon DS1 and that's only because the phase has to send the signal via DS1 which was needed to activate Serato.... but now Serato is activated without hardware since I have full licence, so can this be the ultimate solution of 1 CABLESS BOX for Full Serato (I know u still need the Phase USB)...for Q points etc I currently use a pioneer controller and it works like a char, XP1

You'll need the DS1. Somewhere in your system you need a soundcard.
