Yea I’m lvl 1 and I can’t figure out how to do the asylum map, please help.

@@masonbeck34 I'll write some tips below, but I'm writing with the assumption that you know how to use all your tools and how to collect evidence. If you want more information on those aspects of the game, just let me know and I'll be happy to tell you about them. 1. Be thorough. Grab an EMF or a Thermometer, and go room by room with a friend who has a different tool than you. The layout of the map is simple enough so that if you check all the rooms in one particular hallway, you will eventually have to turn around and do the parallel hallway, which will bring you back to where you were before, roughly. You can make your life a little easier by leaving glowsticks to mark where you need to go back to. Also, leave doors open after you've checked them so that you know where you've been. If you see a closed door, you know you haven't been there before. If you see a single open door in a series of closed doors, you know that the ghost might've been there before. 2. Once you find the ghost's room, leave a glow stick or some tool that you'll need later (like a photo camera, your Thermometer/EMF) outside the door as a marker for yourself and your group. Begin setting up your tools there so you can begin figuring out what kind of ghost you're dealing with. Salt the doorway, in the room, and the surrounding area outside the room. Motion sensors in and outside the room. Video Cameras pointing in the room, and in the hallway outside the room to capture potential Ghost Orbs. Etc. 3. Asylum is actually one of the safest maps (IMO) in the rotation because of its long corridors and because there are so many rooms to hide in. Also, the ghost AI is pretty predictable because it is so dependent on line of sight. Once you round a corner or two, the ghost will tend to stop following you. Because of this, if a hunt initiates and you don't hear the ghost nearby, you can just walk into a room and hide. If you've located the ghost's room and you are far away when it initiates the hunt, don't be afraid to keep moving to save time. The ghost will spawn in or near its haunted room, making it less likely to find you. 4. All the ghosts, with the exception of the Jinn and the Revenant, move as quickly as the player's sprint speed. Jinns will move faster as it approaches you, but once it comes to a couple meters from you, it will slow down to the player's sprint speed. Because of this, you can simply outrun all ghosts (EXCEPT REVENANTS) if you're caught out in the open with no option to hide. The map is large enough that you can simply run until the ghost stops hunting. On Amateur difficulties, the ghost hunts for 25 seconds. On Intermediate, 45 seconds. On Professional, 50 seconds. This is where the large size of the Asylum helps, where on smaller maps you don't have anywhere to run if you're caught out. If you have a camera, you can use this knowledge to take pictures of the ghost while it is chasing you for more cash. NOTE: Smudge sticks are helpful as well because they cause the ghost to lose track of you. If a ghost is chasing you and you have a smudge stick AND lighter in your inventory, you can smudge, lose it around a corner, and hide. The smudge stick only works for a couple seconds before the ghost shakes off the affects, so be careful.

@@masonbeck34 Yee, no problem! I also had the phobia bad when I was a kid too, so I know the feels. But if you play the game enough, you start developing the mental flow chart to deal with all the situations, which makes you less scared. Still spooky game, just not shit your pants terrifying hahaha I will say that I made a slight mistake on tip 3 that I'd like to correct. It's not a hundred percent true when I said that the ghost will stop following you after you round a couple corners. What happens basically is that the ghost will follow you as best it can, but if you juke into a room while it doesn't have vision of you, it won't know where to go next. Good luck ghost wrangling!

To find the ghost with the parabolics you need to find a 3,5 in silent place, this will be the Ghost for sure But it gets everything from 1,5 (clicking lights), 4(slamming doors), 5 (spirit box sound) so you must be sure there's no other sounds evolved It takes about 1 second to screen refresh the place you were pointing and the range is a real mess to understand , Btw my favorite tool to find the ghost in medium/big maps

Weirdest Mare I ever saw - They *very* rarely turn lights on, and yet that one turned the light on *in its room* Granted, I once had a Poltergeist that absolutely LOVED to fiddle with the Fuse Box, so ghosts be weird sometimes

Update on my Ghost Hunting adventures as I slowly get braver - I asked a Banshee if he could turn the light off to check how active he was, he manifested NEXT TO the light switch and I got some GREAT photos. - Had an EXTREMELY active Shade spookily walk towards me while I was setting up the Recording Camera and Ghost Book, so I was annoyed that I couldn't get a picture of him.

I have had several cases like this too: - A Revenant being extremely shy while I was on Professional, and no Crucifixes, all while trying to piss it off with the Ouija Board and it's name. - A Demon that just WOULD. NOT. HUNT. It took me a solid hour just to get it to hunt, again trying to piss it off with it's name and the Oujia Board. - A Poltergeist that was extremely shy, the room was full of items and the only things it interacted with were the doors, lights, and the Ghost Writing Book (Moving it around). - A Wraith that walked through every pile of salt I placed, and never seemed to go through any walls or even see me through doors, closets, or lockers. - A Spirit that flipped the Fuse Box off every 5 minutes, it was so annoying. - And lastly, a Mare acting very much like a Poltergeist, flipping the lights on/off, closing/opening doors, etc. All in all, I have weird Ghosts.

I play this game in VR and I don't think I'd ever be able to even step foot into the Asylum without voiding my bowels and running. Also, for future reference, your parabolic microphone readings were your own actions (i.e. light switch, door, etc.). You have to be completely silent for it to pick up the ghost. Awesome video, though, and I love watching these.

Is turning on the lights a bad thing? I thought it would anger the ghosts. Also, can we use the Spirit Box during the safe time?

If you turn too many lights on you run the risk of the power tripping, you will then have to go and find the fusebox to turn the power back on, that's why I don't like to leave too many on at a time. It's a good idea to leave the lights on when you're in the ghost room as your sanity won't drop in the light. Also yes you can use the spirit box during the safe time! As long as the lights are off, it doesn't work with lights on.
