@@Cpp_For_Life I guess if R is less than one ohm it can happen. But I am trying to make sense of it too.

How we know VL is leading 90 digree?
@patrickhelmick58293 жыл бұрын
VL leads IL by 90 degrees because a coil of wire with electricity flowing through it generates a magnetic field. The act of generating the magnetic field at the moment that a given direct voltage is applied causes much initial impediment to current flow. After the magnetic field is built to 100% of possible intensity, there is no more impediment to current flow. So if there exists impediment to current flow, there is voltage across the coil. When there is no impediment to current flow, there is no voltage across the coil, and lots of current flow to support the magnetic field. Can you guess what happens if we suddenly disconnect the coil from that applied direct voltage?

What is the meaning of " j "
@AnkitKumar-bb1fq3 жыл бұрын
iota
@patrickhelmick58293 жыл бұрын
"j" in electronics is the very same thing as the imaginary operator "i" in college algebra. "i" equals the square root of minus one, which is not on the real number line. If a number has "i" after it, it is on the imaginary number line, perpendicular to the real number line. If a number has "j" before it, it's the same thing, except electronics notation.
@aarthikmehta94968 ай бұрын
It's iota only but we are representing it with "j" alphabet just so you don't get confused if it is current(i) or iota(i).
