sir you can assume vL>vC and draw the phasor...so in this case xL>xC...inductive effect is more than capacitive effect..hence we can conclude that current will lag the voltage by some angle...so hence pf will lag... simillarly if we can take Xc>XL then pf lead...and in case of Xc=xL...it will behave like a pure resistive circuit...pf=1..

and also another two conditions are there , *Xc>Xl (Vc-Vl, Xc-Xl & Qc-Ql). * Xl=Xc(this is cancel out each other and gives the result of pure resistive load) please verify it those results...

It seems Vr is greater than I, not lesser than it. Because Vr equals I multiplied by R.

Is RLC series circuit an active circuit, as it amplfies the voltage obtained at capacitor and inductor, at resonance?

Xc/j is the standared form..in case of ac supply...if u can multiply j with uper side and lower side then you will get (-jXc)
