Also the cold water is important, if you use hot water it'll cause your waves to loosen. Cold tightens.

Use cold water throughout the whole wash n style or just at the end of your wash to lock in moisture?
@shawnchristopher5088 Жыл бұрын
@@Sportswitshareef I do it throughout, whenever I used hot water the end result wasn't the greatest. Hot water causes your hair to frizz and loosen. It worked perfectly when I used cold water. Not blistering cold but a nice cool water run.

@@shawnchristopher5088 okay I appreciate that I just did a wash n style yesterday and I used warm water all the way through and used cold at the end but next time I’ll wash with cold water all the way through I thought cold water closed cuticles so but cold water moving forward 💪🏾🏄🏾

Also after ragging up put on two compression caps. Don't over tighten the durag bc after putting on two compression caps it'll cut off your circulation, cause a nasty rag line on your forehead and is just uncomfortable. Tie the rag mid tight and the compression caps will help give you extra compression and also be a buffer between your rag and the pillow (at night) to help prevent shifting of your rag and waves while you're sleeping. I get crispy waves this way.

If you want to speed up the drying process for your waves. What I do usually is, I have a shower before I go out somewhere, then I drive with the windows down. Definitley speeds things up a bit. I'm a morning shower person tho, I know some of ya'll like to do this at night before bed so this wouldn't apply to everyone.

I have a tip about drying. Just sit under an overhead dryer on low for about an hour. OR get one on those soft bonnets /bonnet hair dryer that hooks up to your blow dryer and set the blow dryer to med/low until it feels dry. Hope this helps 😊

Wash and style works for when your hair is low, it just won’t get you waves. It’s good to do wash and styles when your hair is short to train your hair for your pattern

The biggest issue for me was not knowing which way hair grew on my sides. When I figured that out I was able to get my 360 waves. Another issue I had was I wasn't letting my hair dry out fully. Now I keep my durag on for about 4 hours. When I found one of this guy's original videos for wash and style method in 2 weeks I had 360 waves. He's the truth!
@prodsossy8368 Жыл бұрын
does the way ur hair grows on the side really matter? I thought you were supposed to brush in the normal 360 pattern regardless? Help me out im struggling with my sides too
@shawnchristopher5088 Жыл бұрын
@@prodsossy8368 it does, because it'll help you get them significantly faster. If you're not brushing in the direction your hair grows you might get temporary partial pattern of waves but it'll go away the moment you cut or wash your hair and you'll be starting from scratch again. Once you know the direction your hair on the side grows, it shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 weeks for you to get them (with wash and style technique within a day if done right).

Man I’m fucking over it! I’ve been woofing since June so it’s not about length for me. So wash and styles work for me and it’s the only time my shit look decent is immediately after I do a wash and style. The problem for me is that I get waves in the front of my hair but the back lays down and goes straight and the sides NEVER get waves (closer to the temple of the head). Then the main problem for me is FRIZZ!…. I’ve been working on keeping my hair moisturized to kill the frizz but for some reason it fucks up my waves once I brush, they just get totally frizzy, it’s like the wash and style be a waste! I can rag it back up but my shit never look the same after a brush. I don’t know if it’s the texture or my hair or what that’s the problem. I don’t have very course hair and after a wash and style my hair feels super soft.. Btw I’ve done everything he said in this video. so 🤷🏾♀️ like I said I’m over it. Back to the locs it is.
@RT-qz5ci Жыл бұрын
Ay my nigga try ocean waves. I had the same issue as you. You need a really heavy product. These all natural products will not work if you have really nappy hair. I use the ocean waves when my hair is still a little damp after the wash and style. I use a plastic bag or plastic gloves to apply it and i really pull all my hair in the direction of my wave pattern. Rag up and by the time your hair dries you should be spinnin. Your hair will be kind of dry at that point so just apply a leave in conditioner and rag back up for 30 min. I’m good for 3-4 days after that and my waves are tight. I don’t even brush that much. Good luck
@ljwoolbright213411 ай бұрын
It’s the hair texture. My hair is so damn silky , I’m black and Indian on both sides of my family. My hair only lays and thickens when my hair is in it’s natural oily state when it’s semi dirty. But soon as I wash and style it’s a wrap for me. Wash and style just loosens everything and it gets too soft.
