He still said something like “these tea leaves are useless” too, so that is not far off. Plus, Phelous himself does not always use the words “completely useless” when showing Old Man’s reactions (like Old Man reacting to the watch in Wonderland), so that could technically parallel how original Old Man used different words like “my spices, they’re ruined”, “these tea leaves are useless”, and “it’s good for nothing now.” For some reason, I guess “it’s completely useless now” is just what Phelous finds the funniest way to say it, so he just uses that as the primary phrase, while mixing in other variations.
