Fun fact: In real life, mice generally avoid cheese, and will only eat it if they're desperate and it's the only food available. The only reason "mice eat cheese" became a thing was because cheese was one of the only foods kept in pre-refrigerator-era pantries that were capable of showing clear bite marks to prove that a mouse had gotten into the pantry. Thus, people assumed that the mice were specifically going after the cheese, when in reality, they were nibbling on everything.

I doubt they were even aware of this at all. Remember they sent their lawyers after a day care center that had Mickey Mouse artwork on their walls. I always remember owning the VHS tape of this cartoon when my mom and I bought it at what I believe used to be Schlecker near Robert-Koch-Square in Dortmund in around the mid-90s, and I always remember watching the VHS a lot, even seeing the trailer of their take on Pocahontas after the feature. I have lost the VHS tape since then and hadn't seen it again since until I stumbled across the ISO of a Phoenix Games title called Detective Mouse in around 2011 and somehow, it had that very exact cartoon that I remember watching when I used to have the VHS tape of it!

This one really shows how the "English" voice actors are really German. The Male VA always tries to do an English accent, and the Female VA always tries to do an American accent....but then when there's a German word in the script, their accents suddenly change to German (and of course in any movie that Wushel appears in, they go back and forth between "Wushel" and "Vushel")
