All the 24 wheels are sundials. 12 wheels are curved on each side, so they can be used to precisely tell time through the 12 months as sun's position changes in the sky.

Just so around the world. In the US it is just as bad. As a Native American, I see so much that is lies, even about history in just the last century. I was born mid century, so some of these inaccuracies happened during my lifetime. These lies always put my people lower than the "civilized" whites. To maintain a dominant posture, academia insists every building/social/civil accomplishment was done by brute force. (And there's a slight emphasis on the word "brute" to reinforce the notion that any accomplishment made was "just" the outcome of of a political system that could work people to death over decades.) But beyond the racial bias, it seems there is some group or force that must insist that only northern Europeans were intellectually proficient enough to invent novel and sophisticated solutions to accomplish anything worthwhile. As if there is a divide between their ancestors and my own. A divide that is as between animals and real humans. Moreover, there are timelines these academia consider inviolable. In the Americas, that means 12,000 years for humans, because in their minds, the Berringia land route is what must be accepted. There is a mystery here, in this insistence that no matter the evidence, everything must fit a pre ordered timeline. Why? What is there about the deeper past that frightens them? Is it just self serving egos, or is there some unstated but powerful restriction on looking to closely at unrecorded history? It makes one wonder about who or what seems to be interfering with the scientific method in this one area? Other branches of science take in new discoveries and information and adjust their theories to include the new insights. Even Albert Einstein's great contributions to physics hasn't deterred later researchers from challenging his work even a hundred years on. Why is Archeology alone so unbending?

@@RealPraveenMohan I feel these knowledge has been lost because ancients probably didn't want to share their knowledge with the public because probably they considered themselves superior in having such knowledge and this is the very reason it's lost now. How otherwise would you explain why the heck these sadhus knew about the time but public did not? The good part about westerners is that they would share their knowledge but take credit ofcourse. Atleast the inventions are not lost in translation.

There are many yogis in the Northern India with very detailed knowledge of Indian astronomy. The science of 'Jyotish' which many disregard as just astrology contains very precise calculations and there is set to exist a text called 'Bhrigu Samhita'. Bhrigu is an ancient Vedic Saptarishi- one of the seven sages. Even if one disregard that, Indian astronomy has always been very precise. The heliocentric model was first proposed by Aryabhatta in the 5th century. No body recognised it because no body translated it. It was debated by Bhaskaracharya but Aryabhatta had proposed it. The Vedic understanding of the cosmos is very precise and it's calendar is much precise than the current Gregorian Calendar which can't even tackle leap years. Unlike other civilisations, India did not have a dark age. It had the longest running classical period and this konark is a culmination of that. If you go to the Ancient Barabar caves of Bihar you can see the 300 BC caves with precise reflexitivity and resonance which gives ample evidence of the Indian knowledge of acoustics.

The civilization of bharat (india) is highly advanced sadly the wealth and knowledge is either looted or destroyed by invaders. There was a book in sanskrit called "yantra saraswana" ( Mechanics) mentioned 109 different machines and their functions. The temples was undoubtedly made by machines mentioned in our texts. It is not possible to make these structures by hammer or simple tools.

Sadly nowadays mainstream history are all base on western knowledge, western civilization only exist for so short compare to India and China , China itself is at least 5000 years old of history, even the language chinese is an ancient history, the oldest still using languages and it contains 10 thousands over individual alphabets , and each individual alphabet can be combine and form words, compare to western alphabet which only contains 26 letters. We chinese has been using the same text and language since the beginning of our civilization. It's is well constructed and well developed, test through time and people, ancient civilization like India and Chinese were soo far advance then western civilization during the same era, then their Kings and Queens still living in a stone castle, we already building cities with extraordinary huge and beautiful place with precise mathematic design, when our civilization bore of thousand of years war and found a away to live harmony through business trade in ancient time, western civilization were still in the dark age. So little is know to India and China , the only thing still exist and proofed to withstand the test of time is our huge ancient wall built thousand years ago still standing right now, and our gigantic city and place. Go china and see for yourself, every city you visit will find modern city built on top of ancient city, and the building ,wall of our ancient empire still remain along side of modern skyscraper ...

Even in Sanskrit, these are elaborate details of forming new words, framing equations into poetic meters. Ancient Indian Indus-Saraswati civilisation has sophisticated urban infrastructure, underground networks of water channels, individual toilets, etc. And these cities are atleast 5000 to 9000 years old. I agree that China and India had a lot of cultural interactions during the Indian classical age. For example, Chinese scholars used to come to India like Nalanda University and Vikramashila university. Similarly, Indian buddhist scholars like Bodhidharma went to China and schools of Buddhism went to China. These seats of human civilisation that constituted over 2/3 of world population were largely ignored by later colonial expansions. Even now, Indian mathematics is only 7% translated. So , imagine the wealth of information in the other 97% and this is despite all those Islamic invasions from Central Asia. Same with China. A lot of knowledge has been lost in the cultural revolution.

The site is one of five built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, from 1723 onwards. The Jantar Mantar monument in Jaipur, Rajasthan is a collection of nineteen architectural astronomical instruments built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II, and completed in 1734. It features the world's largest stone sundial, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is located near City Palace and Hawa Mahal which is another architectural wonder. Jantar Mantar is an observatory built in Varanasi in the year 1737 by Maharaja Jai Singh II of kingdom of Amber.

Native Indian knowledge and technology has been kept in hands of selected few (cunning religious priests/pandits/sadhus) who did not allowed anybody except individuals from their own caste to gain it through education and simple texts.... This is real irony of Indian culture which due to caste - class system has completely vanished its own people and the then advanced technology.

With due respect to dedication towards their own creeds... I really feel embarrassed and simultaneously would like to express my pitiful gesture towards that Yogi Saga ... What a poor and ruthless he would have been; and what a great secret he was hiding? ... just time... which even a kid will tell him using watch/mobile... common man you you really need to grow up (here I am referring to that idiot sadhu baba... lest not defame word Yogi, he really doesn't deserve it). We need to take lessons from rest of world (especially english people) where there is hardly anything which is kept so secret - everywhere they have used language which native people would use. They have presented and wrote things they discovered; which later on kept under public domain so that later on anybody (here literary anybody irrespective of class, caste, occupation) can use and as per time can modify the technology to cater to large population... so they simply made 'education' as a powerful channel to deliver their wisdom, and technological innovations to all people (not selected ones).... I really do want to thank you Praveen for your efforts to reveal these secrets and secular ways of presenting your findings.

We Indians need to revisit our heritage with a fresh unbiased mind. We also need to reform our educational system that is made to praise the ice berg of what was antique and muster what was left by the English. Your work only states that we all have a lot of work to do. To unearth what truly defines INDIA.

i think the wheels on the sky chariots are much too similar to be coincidence. My theory is that the wheels create momentum, but do not use land air or water to do so. imagine that you're on a swing... that motion is created by your legs moving, not because they act like wings, or that they need the ground to swing you. All they need is something to swing against, like an artificial ground. We must imagine a person swinging in zero gravity, or a system that can swing things in one direction, then carefully get ready to swing again, without creating momentum in the other direction.

I think this is accomplished with mercury- rotating- being charged and magnetized at the same time- creating a field within the wheel that constantly tumbles/falls into itself creating liftoff and movement

Of all your videos I have seen, I think this is my favorite. as a kid one of the first things I noticed wrong about a standard sundial is that it is inaccurate during most days throughout the year. I have been fascinated for a while about designing a sundial that shows daily time, and be used as a calendar. When knowing exactly what day you're on, we could read a specific set of dots or symbols to accurately tell time throughout the different seasons, taking in consideration the different times in the day the sun shines on that sundial throughout the year. I imagine that's exactly what's going on with these sundials on this Temple.

Is it possible that the other 24 wheels are timezones of other kingdoms? Perhaps, some of the sculptures near the other wheels may give some clues.

I Wikied a Moondial Moondials are time pieces similar to a sundial. The most basic moondial, which is identical to a sundial, is only accurate on the night of the full moon. Every night after it becomes an additional (on average)[note 1] 48 minutes slow, while every night preceding the full moon it is (again on average)[note 1] 49 minutes fast, assuming there is even enough light to take a reading by. Thus, one week to either side of the full moon the moondial will read 5 hours and 36 minutes before or after the proper time.

The Dice is an object found in the Indus valley 10000 years ago that I believe was the origin of all things related to the understanding of the third dimension. The dice was an object that was used to describe or represent all sides of the dimension or divisions of three, as in three sides, and was also represented on the dials and the points of the dice strike the dial at 120,240,and 360 dice or days on the ancient dial.

In the duration 4:33 you said that people thought that all the 24 wheels were just carved for beauty and as Hindu symbols. There is only one symbol : "WHEELS OF THE CHARIOTS". For the remembered Sun god, They made the temple to show the chariot by the expression of wheels.

There are 24 wheels in the Temple because it is 6 sundials each for the morning and the evening and 6 moondials each for before and after midnight. It is 6 because we have 6 seasons according to the Vedas. Just a theory. Please forgive if I am wrong

Thanks Parveen ji. Getting to know more and more about the marvel that my land is, through you 🙏 Can you make one on Modhera Sun Temple? IMO, The presence of 52pillars there evidences the calculation of "week" in Indian time system. But many are of the opinion that "week" is borrowed from the Greek time system, about 2000years ago

I'd like to give my two cents of worth for this clip, could the sun dial with the carvings of women on it depict the timing of women's menstrual cycle and the exact time for them to conceive, it also could have been used as a birth control means by women, to estimate when it was safe for them to engage in intercourse without any repercussions.

Well, thanx for this incredible video.. You have done a good job..It's always nice to see people from outside india showing so much interest.. (Y) Thanks again.. But there is one thing i'd like to point out, it's not for only last 100yrs, some sadhu discovered how to measure time using sundials. It's been known to our people since ages. Ppl used these sundials(there are over hundreds of them across India) only to measure time... :) And also there were some excellent scholars who excelled in the field of astronomy as well.. :) And about that sculpture, the temple actually represents the Chariot of Sun god.. with 24 wheels symbolizing 24 hours in a solar day... There are a lot of more scientific views and measures to this temple. it's a wonder itself.. Funfact: Did you guys know, it was actually built inside the sea, back then the sea was surrounding the temple. The boundary walls of the temple, they were used as shield from the waves... And, one of the most interesting fact about this temple is that, it was completed by a 12yr old kid, who jumped into the sea, inorder to save his father's, who was the chief architect, life. :)
