What type of glue would you recommend to keep the power button and ribbon in place

Do not glue the ribbon. I use superglue to fix the button and the plastic cover for the eject area. Do not glue the ribbon.

That's what I mean. Use super glue on the 3 plastic weld anchors. Do not glue the ribbon to the button.
