Was RD already in development at that point? If not, they didn't really "switch names" as much as it was changed in localisation. Then IS maybe referenced it in RD and the translation team completed the circle. Though based on the name, it being swapped would also make sense, since it is most likely based off Arondight (or Aroundight), a sword often attributed to Lancelot of Arthurian legend. Probably because Greil's original name is Gawain, the sword is another reference :)

I found that Black Knight and Brave Lucina work really well together. An armored unit with an effective 41 defense, 53 attack, and 40 speed on player phase is crazy (even more so since I S supported Black Knight, and I had B!Lucina and Black Knight support as well)

The problem with this is enemy mages... Lucina doesn't fix that weakness, she only adds to it. You have 2 characters, both very weak to any kind of magic, moving together very slowly. Any kind of mage will put a hole in that, especially Rein and Cecilia.

EntropyUnleashed Black Knight walls Cecilia and can kill Celica, while obliterating any colorless unit. Pivot fixes the speed issue of Black Knight moving with Brave Lucina. My team carries a dancer with Spring Elise that takes care of Reinhard and other blue mages easily.

You have no idea how happy I am that the Black Knight is in Heroes. He's one of my favorite villains. And he's super busted, just like in the original game. And I have a feeling the tempest trials characters from now on are gonna be used to introduce more powerful villains to the game. The concept of power creep is that a new element in a game replaces the old ones outclassing them, therefore people will be most likely to pay to get this new element (note that the black knight is a free unit). So unless they release a stronger version of the black knight, he won't 'powercreep' the future armored units, since he would not be a new one, yet I agree that he powercreeped the current sword armors, as they are pretty obsolete since his introduction in the game.

Bowserslave It isn't a really bad idea. With armors buff, Distant counter 3 and the sacred seal, Black Knight reaches 32 Resistence, which is INSANE. Not mentioning that no archer could touch him with a solid 49 def. With 32 Res... Maybe he could survive Olwen or Delthea? Not Reinhardt tho.

On an armor emblem team of Hector, Brave Lance Effie Black knight and Alvis who should get what C skills? I'm thinking Ward armor Alvis because he won't be tanking much if he blade user. Hector Goad because he comes naturally with it Hone armor black knight as he's already fast and has black luna and this way he can buff effie and Alvis more. And lastly effie fortify because...why not?

No, Black Knight can run different skills in his Slot A since he has distant counter built into Alondite. So he can drop Steady Stance in favor of Steady Breath or Fury or whatever else. With Zephiel, you basically have to use Slot A to give him Distant Counter from Hector in order to make him viable, therefore you can't really run Zeph with a skill like Steady Breath.

I got the 4 Star Version of him and powerleveled him to 40, then unlocked his potential to 5 Stars and powerleveled him again to 40, to get that massive boost of SP and buy all his skills plus Inherit Skills. I have been running him with Vantage + Steady Defense because I surprisingly don't have any unit to get Quick Riposte from. But is Quick Riposte really that better for that build? I'm surprised he did not talk about how good of an option darting blow is, it is a more common skill than fury and allows BK to double more units. A QRiposte + Darting blow build for double the doubling :)

Could work, but Darting Blow is a player-phase skill and armored units typically function better in enemy phase roles because their move sucks. You really don't need to double, because most often enemies are going to get in your range by attacking you first. And after one counterattack, there's not a whole lot of units who can take another two hits so DB seems like a waste. Personally I'd just stick with Steady Stance for the extra +6 Def.

I run LnD3 from a 5* Minerva that had very bad IVs, Desperation 3 from the free to play Shanna and a Fortify Def that swaps with fortify Armor when i'm using him on the armor team. As support skill i gave him Ardent Sacrifice. I know it's not a good idea to actually do that but quite honestly i tried to use him in different situations being arena, TT, GBH and stuff like that and quite honestly he was pretty much the demon of the battle, also cause i have a Kindled-Fire Balm+Reahbilitate and Fortify Res 3 Maria that keeps him alive no matter who he faces. Also he is my Summoner S support and he S support with my - hp + atk Maria so he can still be quite the wall to bring down

I mean you can get him at 5* pretty easily, so no point of making a section of that.

the only reason to upgrade is merge. So if you aren't in a position to start merging units (meaning few 5* characters) then you should be focusing on raising good IV 4* units and merging is a thing for longterm players. Or at least further developing other characters that have great potential (like upgrading a mage's weapon to a raven or blade tome from their default one). Merging is mostly for the higher competitve play and reaching tier 20 in arena. So it should be a lower priority. That said, it doesn't mean to fodder him off - it just means he will need to sit in the barracks in case you can afford a merge in the future. GHB/reward heroes should not be foddered off completely as their options for merging are limited, as summoned heroes are much easier to start merging.

Tbh i feel like zephiel would be a great unit with armor march. His weapon can debuff and cause someone else to get closer to kill. Also amelia cant run dc very well.
