Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it. The HDMI adapter is from Apple. Not sure if someone makes a generic, but I would suggest the Apple one as it has worked great for me.

@@thepittsburghgolfhack I live in Quebec City in Canada, so winter golf is inside or in the southern states. With this ongoing pandemic, no choice but to find ways to practice indoors. We are in lockdown since quite a while, no indoor facilities open.

That stinks that your indoor places are closed. They haven’t gone that far in the states yet. However, I hear across the pond in the UK they recently closed golf courses. FYI.....the Phigolf using real clubs video is up if you haven’t seen it. Check it out, and let me know what you think.

I know this vid is phigolf 1 and I have phigolf 2 but for some reason on the 'range' section I'm slicing everything even though my miss is the hook, but when I go on the 'course' my shots are back to normal. Any idea what's happening there?

I can’t speak to Phigolf 2, but honestly I run into this on all sims. Even on Trackman I have noticed that my shot dispersion looks much different on the range than when playing a round virtually. As weird as it seems sometimes I think it’s mental because we focus harder on trying to hit the target. Maybe it’s just me though. From a technical stance I don’t have an answer though.

Hey I am thinking of getting the Phigolf since I don't have the space for the Opti-golf in my house and the idea of being able to just swing throughout the winter will be nice. One question though, what adapter did you get for your Iphone to mirror your display? Thanks.

Hey thanks for checking out the video. The adapter I have is the Apple lightning cable to HDMI adapter. You connect that to your phone/tablet, and then an HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV. Some people do the screen mirroring, but for me there was too much of a lag. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

Can I just buy the sensor if I want to use my own clubs for the swing? And does this work with Android phones?

You can’t buy just the sensor alone brand new, but I have seen some people selling just the sensor on ebay. As far as Android compatibility I think it will. You should just be able to search the Android app store for Phigolf, and if the app is available it should work. Thanks for watching my review though, and hope this helps.

Where does your phone have to be when you try and swing the club I can’t get my game to work

Just within bluetooth reach. Mine is usually about 5-8 ft away. Are you sure the sensor is paired with the phigolf app? The best way I have found to ensure connection is to turn the sensor on just before I open the app. The app should say searching for sensor when you open it, and then connect to it automatically.

Yes, on the settings for each golfer you can change the dominant hand.

The Phigolf app, and World Golf Tour app are both free. However, to unlock courses on World Golf Tour you do have to pay a subscription. Well worth it in my opinion to play simulated golf in the winter.

So I've been playing this a few months now and hit the real course today. WOW! My driver felt so awkward. Like it was so long and weighed a ton. After swinging a 2 foot phigolf club it messed you up. Strangest feeling ever with normal clubs. Especially the driver. I suggest putting the sensor in a real club. Took about 4 tee shots to get a normal feeling back. Lmao 🤣

Haha yes, I could see it doing that to you. I was able to go to a local simulator in addition to phigolf, and was able to keep my swing fresh. However, for me just being able to keep that muscle memory going was good. I just enjoy playing the courses on WGT using the phigolf. It’s the closest I’ll probably ever come to playing Oakmont Cc! Lol

@@thepittsburghgolfhack from now on I will put the sensor in a club. I was 5 over after 7 holes but ended 6 over for the round. 3 putted twice and hit my approach on 18 in the pond. Go Steelers!!

The WGT app needs to remove that stupid black banner telling you to address then swing! A voice command would be better, so you can see and align the ball with the direction you're hitting it. Just like all the other sims! And that is why putting is so difficult. You can't line up the ball with the hole! Come on game designers, get your sht together.

I bought the thing. It was no different than the Wii game. Hit every fairway with 250 yard drives, ( nothing like my real game ) impossible to make puts. Don't waste your money.

Just bought this thing and i've got to say it's crap. Noone wants to play using the phigolf app (looks like nintendo from they 80's) and the other WGT app only allows one player.

First off thanks for tuning in to the channel. Couldn’t agree more on the phigolf app graphics, but I thoroughly enjoy playing WGT using Phigolf. Even if it is only one player, me and my buds have had plenty of fun just taking turns playing some of the best courses in golf. I have one friend that has one too, and we can play WGT two player remotely. It’s not for everyone, it’s not as accurate as a $20k launch monitor, but it does allow you to get some swings in during the winter with semi-accurate data.

@@thepittsburghgolfhack I haven't been able to connect the WTG app because the stupid thing makes me part of some Pro golf game and I cannot exit that: Then it s DENIED to connect the Phigolf app. All the Phigolf videos are out of date concerning the WTG app... It just a very very BAD experience. Can you help at all?

You aren’t wrong! Haha..I will say it does a pretty good job of modeling swing path, but yeah the distances and speeds are quite a bit off. It’s simply a fun simulation for the winter time that helps scratch the golf itch.
