@fabtheworld I agree. He speaks what he feels, you either love him or hate him, but one place he isn't is 'sitting on the fence'. I've talked to a lot of people who just dodge making comments cos they're scared of what people are going to think of them. Phil isn't one of those people.

The thing is, MMA fighters are just way more well rounded and MMA fights are way more exciting to watch. There are so many ways that an MMA fight can end that I think it just blows boxing out of the water.

@RaidenTheAlmighty You can't compare two entirely different sports and make out like one is better than the other, thats all down to opinion. MMA fighters are more well rounded? Of course they are, because in boxing you don't kick, thats like saying an American footballer is more well rounded than a soccer player because he can pick the ball up and run with it. Boxing takes a lot of skill, stand-up MMA fighters barely box, they punch. Two different sports.

Phil's right about MMA overtaking boxing in the US. And it's mainly because of that very reason he mentions. Boxing promoters pamper their fighters, and the best boxers don't fight each other. In MMA the best fight the best. And that's the way it should be. Who wants to watch elite contenders pick and choose easy opponents who they know they can beat? Boxing has become a joke. MMA is superior by far.
