Plus those longer decompression stops aren't always gonna be in the open water blue...they may be at various depths along a vibrant reef depending on the divesite.

Really great video. Has clarified a lot of tech concepts for me. I took a lot out of it. Was really good seeing how the profiles changed with different gases in Multideco.

Safety stops should not ever be optional, unless you’re only like 20 feet down or something. Trust me, for long term brain, organ and joint health you want to do them. That was the one thing in the video I couldn’t believe hearing. Yeah obviously if you’re just 20 feet or something you don’t need to do one… but 30, 40, 50, 60 feet? Do a 3 minute safety stop. Maybe if you’re only 30 feet down, a 2 minute safety stop is probably sufficient… but for me, I’ve always done my 3 min safety stop, always came up 1 foot every 2 seconds or slower, and I’ve never had any problems or headaches after diving ever, and done well over 200 dives. Some people do 1 foot every second and that’s supposed to be fine too. For me I go extra slow just because. It’s fun going on a deep dive and knowing you have the discipline to not have a headache or issues later But he’s right about decompression stops, they’re even more important than safety stops (although I’d say they’re both equally important because you should never skip either unless somehow your only alternative is actual drowning). Overall the video was excellent, very informative, so this one point is kind of nitpicking but important nonetheless

I’ll always feel cave diving is 1000% nuts compared to wreck diving.

Actually, wreck is more dangerous in many ways.

@roypatterson9910
@roypatterson9910 3 жыл бұрын
@@mustanggun They are about the same, the only thing that's more dangerous about wreck diving is rust, cables and fishing hooks, but they both are dangerous, because there's no direct way to the surface. But, Cave diving is more dangerous because it's much easier to get lost and get wedged into a spot you might not get out of. Not only that, most wrecks aren't that big, meaning that there's caves that goes for miles, and in wrecks, you have a much better chance of finding your way out in a hurry so you can ascend, but in caves, you don't have that option, if something goes wrong 2000 feet into a cave, you are pretty much dead, unless you have a backup, but if that fails, then you have another tank, but after that, then you are screwed! You don't hear about many deaths in wreck diving, but look at how many divers that has died in caves and had to be recovered, it's rare you survive when something goes wrong. Just ask Edd Sorenson, he'll tell you about all the bodies he's had to recover, and when the best of the best can't get it done, then guess who they call, they call Edd Sorenson, the man is a legend!

I just want to reaffirm that shearwater computers are the best computer out there. I got my teric before I took my open water class and it’s been with me since that day all away to tec diving.

If you've always had the same computer, can you honestly say which is the best since you can compare it properly? I also love my Shearwater but I've used multiple different ones.
@nes.torfernandez
@nes.torfernandez 3 жыл бұрын
@@Yggdrasil42 well I’m nobody to say that! Shearwater is the best dive computer because every diver knows that and others brands knows that. Yes we have garmin but let’s be honest that’s not a a dive computer like shearwater is like shearwater is not a watch like garmin is I don’t know if you understand what I’m trying to say

Anyone who says “Isn’t it boring to deco for 58min?” Should not be looking at tech diving. It’s part of the dive and if you don’t do it you’re going to be in a bad place. If you’re mind goes to “isn’t it boring” then you should do something else
