My favorite Def Leppard song. This album in the 80's growing up as a teenage then was like Heaven. I'd give up 20 years of my life to be able to relive that time again. We had the best decade. Unless you lived it you can't fully understand it.

@@buckroger6456 - I would have to say Pyromania! Mainly, because it was the album that hooked me up to the DEF LEPPARD wagon. It took a huge bite out of me, and I loved it. It was also the album that cemented myself as a bonafide, certified, hardcore Rock-N-Roller. I simply love this band, and always will. I love my big DEF LEPPARD poster on my BR wall. DEF LEPPARD RULES! Peace.

The lyrical + musical genius of Leppard was Steven Maynard "The Riffmaster" Clark. From the early songs "Rock Rock" "Saturday Night" to "Too late for Love", "Bringing on the Heartbreak", "Gods of War" - SO many other songs that Steve penned the lyrics and simply created a musical 'wonderment' that have enabled this band to tour off his mostly catalogue of songs. And live, with his distinctive boots, strapped SO low - "Steamin" was a genuine rock star who oozed cool. No Saul Hudson e-cigarette poseur. Vivian has said several times verbatim "90% of what we play Steve left us". His guitar parts [some] even the monster Vivian admits he still cannot play - the way Steve created his hooks, bends, melodies, harmonies and brutal riffing are epic. The song "Photograph" if all want to see this song live and 'how' it 'should' be played - go to the bands Denver Colorado gig 1989 - the 'In The Round In Your Face Tour' - Steve opens this song with the most iconic guitar I have seen, his creme LP Custom, triple humbuckers with Kahler. Steve delivers the intro and ride out riffing/solo. Magical. And if you're a Leppard fan Robert 'Mutt' Lange was 'the' co genius who gifted the world x2 US Diamond Certified records, "Pyromania + Hysteria". Only Van Halen are the same in having 2 different records Certified RIAC Diamond.

One of my favorite albums. I remember when I bought it on cassette and vinyl for that same year, 1983. The best times. I saw them for the Hysteria tour in 1988 in San Juan Puerto Rico. I remember that they used two stages, one half and the original complete as it appears on In the Round in your Face tour in Denver CO 1989, which was where they closed their two-year world tour. Mutt Lange, in my humble personal opinion, managed to capture the Def Leppard formula. In their choruses recorded in different booths in the recording studio. The various guitars they recorded were many. Pyromania for me was a preamble to Hysteria. Excellent record production. Best to you Def Leppard from Las Vegas N.V.

The complete story is the Pete Willis basically wrote these riffs and others on this album. He was fired during the recording. the band never completely recovered from this and the loss Mutt Lang after Hysteria. Willis was an integral member of DEF LEPPARD who co-wrote many songs on "On Through The Night" (1980),"High 'N' Dry" (1981) and several on the band's 1983 breakthrough album, "Pyromania" ("Photograph", "Too Late For Love", "Comin' Under Fire" and "Billy's Got A Gun")
