I understand both of those feelings my oldest son isn't talking to most of family reasons pretty much unknown(has something to do with his new wife) still on him,was so close. I also know the feeling of having to watch a child go through addiction(diff. kid) she's been clean about 8yrs now very proud of her it's a daily struggle, but that guy wrenching fear never goes away completely. I can tell u don't give up,if can find him keep making him try rehab or clinic, took her 4x, I'd also suggest Suboxone over methadone if possible. Wishing you all the prayers and love hopefully it will work out!
@domenicoalbergo53507 ай бұрын
@CMCDR6975 Hi I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. Please when you see your son again if not you but anyone else very close to him ask him what is he hiding and no matter what it is you guys will support him even if you don’t want to hear it. Because right now I’m going through the same thing I have a very deep secret but I have no one that I can share it with so I’ve decided to take it to the grave with me so right now I try everything just to numb the pain. It can be over medicating myself to drinking a lot of alcohol just so I don’t have to feel pain anymore. I want to run away also but I can’t I have way to much responsibility. What people don’t seem to understand is that we don’t become addicts because it feels good it’s to hide from ourselves. So please don’t be mad at him or judge him because trust me he’s trying not to disappoint anybody so this is his only way. I really hope he comes back to you guys really soon so he can open up to someone. Good luck to him and your family my heart goes out to you guys.

This song takes me to one of the saddest memories I have. When my baby brother was born my father left my stepmother and she was alone with a new born baby. I was sent to stay with her that summer to keep her company and help with my brother. When she would put my brother to sleep she would rock him in a chair and listen to the radio, one night this song came on and as she held my brother she started crying from her soul. The pain she was feeling resonated in the whole apartment. I watched her from a distance, I was overwhelmed with sadness that I also started to cry. I wanted to go to her but I was frozen in that moment all I did was watch as she embraced her baby and wept with no consolation. Ever since that day this song is a trigger for me. I can never listen to it without sobbing. It takes me back to that summer night when my stepmother rocked my brother to sleep with a broken heart. Even writing about it makes me cry. 😢

i came across your touching comment in the death of love ones post here on you tube. Well am really sorry about that okay 😒☹and I know how it feels to be lonely without our love ones, we've all lost our love ones in death one way or the other, either a spouse, child, family members, or a true friend that meant the world to us, such is life I understand how you feel but life must move on because death is inevitable no matter how hard we try! And we'll all have to face it someday...

Phil Collins was on fire in the 80s. Hit after smash hit, even with this cover of a 60s song. Talented bloke!
@majhiggins8 жыл бұрын
Possibly the best love song ever. It has super-simple words, super-simple tonality and uses the dated term "groovy" and yet it gets directly to the heart of what feeling in-love really is. I was a teenager when this came out and I'm a 50 year old man now but nothing has changed. 30 seconds into the song I'm crying my eyes out. The Mind Benders originally recorded this at a faster tempo with a psychedelic 60s sound. Phil was smart to slow it down and simplify it. You only need to hear the words and basic melody. It speaks directly to your heart.
@markrechter99658 жыл бұрын
no not psychedelic at all, no more than the Mama's and the Papa's were. It was sung at a slightly quicker pace and louder instruments, but it was sung in a soulful manner. It was in the same vein as Love is All Around You by the Troggs which I feel was the better love song. But both represent the 60's well and will be covered for a long time to come. Obviously I prefer the original versions of both to this cover and WET WET WET's cover of the Troggs song.

When my daughter was born and handed to me for the first time this song was playing softly in the room but I didn't hear the words. I held her close to me and all I wanted to hear was her little heart beat and her breathing in my ear . She is a grown woman now and it is true; "when I'm feeling blue all I have to do is think of you". That was in 1988 and we were a young family just starting out. Now her Mom and I are in our senior years and I have wonderful memories of riding horses together and teaching her about the world..

One of Phil's few ballads written from the viewpoint of currently being in love and not being rejected or unrequited. The irony is that this is one of his more yearning songs in musical theme and will totally wreck someone who listens to it in the midst of a love that is not reciprocated.
@nicholastosoni7079 жыл бұрын
Azure ...Funny, I always thought it would be much improved by putting it in the past tense. For example: "Wouldn't you agree/_Maybe_ you and me/_Had_ a groovy kind of love." (Jesus, that's just _asking_ for a flood of Ten/Rose fanvids...)
@AngryStyro9 жыл бұрын
Azure That's because he didn't write it.

I'd actually forgotten that, after seeing your comment I searched the original and I definitely remember having seen it before years back and being surprised it was such an old song, I had the same kind of thing happen with the Happy Monday's Step On. Anyway, thanks for pointing it out, it does explain the different lyrical tone.

Azure this is one is a cover. he made the arrangement of the song in a mesmerizing way. Could be said the same of "true color" from Cindy Lauper he made in 1999.
