I used to watch Phil Cool in the late 80’s. Thought he was brilliant. Really used to make me laugh. The way he went from once face to another so quick was brilliant. In the early 90’s I used to watch Brian Conley. I thought he was brilliant too. Sadly these type of Comedians have seemed to drop from TV shows now which is a shame. The 60’s/70’s showed the best comedic actors/actresses in shows and films. Sadly all seem forgotten about.

He is truly the best ever in the UK maybe the world, that's what you call great talent, whilst some comedians just mimic voices, he would use his voice and his face he never needed any props either Its a big shame he is not performing anymore, i was looking at the dates of his farewell tour in this video description, cant believe i was not even aware about it i felt real gutted, I'f i would have known about this tour i would have gone to see him live i would have been able to see him at March 1st Albert Halls in Bolton, I live Bury so that would have been ideal for me Shall miss him performing, thank you Phil for so many laughs and many hours of classic entertainment

my favourite all time comedian brilliant, better than todays lot, always put a smile on my face, while I am recovering from a major op.

Yeah I totally agree with you, Phil was one of the best this country has ever had. He could not only sound like the person he was taking off, but manage to look like the person too. There aren't many today who can do that, if any. Thanks Phil for those years of real comedy, hope you're feeling better these days, after your heart problems. Have a pleasant retirement, You deserve it.

Brilliant wasn't he? I hope he's having a happy retirement. The Michael Caine sketch : That actually happened to my (Very short sighted) mum, The Optician asked her to take her glasses off and then said to her "Can you read what it says on the card ?" she said "Eh? " So he replied ( A bit louder this time) "Can you read what is says on the card please" so mum replied "Yes, A, thats it, top line the letter A, that's as far as I can get!" 🤣

Clearly you are not sure about this sort of comedy
@lennoxmate40643 жыл бұрын
@@steveellis9288 “this sort of comedy”? There’s a reason he didn’t last long in the spotlight. Great impressions but the material just wasn’t quite strong enough.
@steveellis92883 жыл бұрын
@@lennoxmate4064 perhaps your opinion is subjective and the material didn’t quite fit with the BBC narrative at the time, remember funny is funny.
@lennoxmate40643 жыл бұрын
@@steveellis9288 i think the fact he didn’t have a huge amount of longevity speaks for itself. He didn’t have much of an edge. Yes it is subjective but the people that do remember him, remember him for those great rubber faced impressions rather than how hilarious his jokes were.
@steveellis92883 жыл бұрын
@@lennoxmate4064 An assessment of Phil Cool shouldn’t be based on generalisations and speculation on how you feel other thought about him. His short run in the spot light is well documented and has more to do with the BBC drive to dumb down the audience rather than maintaining a higher grade talent base.
