Addition : should be function in any system, tactic, manager and team. Player that can't do this above criteria then he is just a mediocre lucky lad who was born in a big club. To be honest I haven't seen any former World great players have the same experienced like what happened to Foden, great at one club and then become mediocre at another club or national team under different tactic or manager. Juventus's Zidand are the same with France's Zidane, PSG's Mbappe is the same with France's Mbappe, Liverpool's VVD is the same with Holland's VVD, Bayern's Musiala is the same as Germany's Musiala, Madrid's Bellingham is the same as England's Bellingham, Arsenal's Rice is the same as England's Rice, and it is only Man City's Foden is different with England's Foden.

England should play 4-4-2 formation or 4-1-3-2 formation , we need quality and numbers in the midfield . Play in Wharton , Mainoo , Rice , Bellingham together , and play Forden and Kane upfront . Bellingham , Forden and Kane will score the goals . We dont need wingers to drop and assist defence at this stage , we need midfield that links defence , mid and attack .

@delete9090 personally I would've taken Grealish and used Foden as a sub against the legs of a tired defence. Fodens a great talent but he's a luxury player and not suited to international football. As we saw yet again tonight. With Grealish not in the squad I would've probably given Gordan a chance then Eze. Gallagher or Mainoo instead of Trent. 1 of them will take that place in the future so why not blood them in young like Spain are doing with Lamal? Foden wouldn't even have been on the plane for me.

Mainoo went missing against Iceland last week and England lost. The kid can't handle international football yet. Against a far superior Serbia team, Trent started and England won. foden wasn't the problem. our issue is we have 3 right footers playing down the left, if you include rice. as good as trippier is, we needed someone with a left foot to widen the pitch. when foden, rice or trippier had the ball they immediately cut back inside to their right foot. trent is a great passer, but we lose energy and intensity of a gallagher or mainoo defensively.
