You can see the same thing in gtowizard or any sim where we flat a 4b a lot of AA in position especially ( i suggest even OOP since you can strengthen your calling range ) . If you push out with KK some AK and some QQ/JJ you don't mind since especially AK has decent equity, but with AA the reverse is true.

@@simoneggler5184 Eh, those high roller events are statistically a lot easier to win than the fields that Hellmuth plays. Yes the average player is better, but the tiny fields can allow things like what happened to Negreanu, blown out all summer (a lot of it run bad) and then win a 30 person field and talk about owning the world again! Those giant buys in are a bit incestuous in that the same players are all backed by the same people and they are just spreading around money. Yes, some are winners, some are losers, but they all are just trying to add $10 million to their tournament winnings while not actually making much, if any, money.
@simoneggler5184 Жыл бұрын
@@stevenloube6784 when you are not good enough in the high roller events than you win statisticly these by around zero procent. The last triton main event (100k buy in) had way more then 100 entrys. Around like 140 entrys I think .. You will never see hellmuth in these events. There are also WSOP bracellet events that are high roller as well. 250k buy in for example. Hellmuth doesn't enter in these events aswell. I agree. he targets the smaller field WSOP events for bracellets. For example the H.O.R.S.E or dealer choice or stud or whatever. That does say actually alot about his skill level. He is more likely to add another bracellet to his all time record. I don't think by the way that negreanu (correct?) Is one of the best players. Good Players would be for example: Tan Xuan, Stephen Chidwick, Thimothy Adams or Fedor Holz.

awesome video but i would've liked to hear you talk more about the exploitative side in these hands. Regarding the KTo hand in particular - obviously the turn lead is bad from a logical and theoretical standpoint. But JR and Keating aren't pros, I don't think they're good enough to be thinking on a high level about Phil's range and how it doesn't contain strong hands. So I think that discussing theory and range construction isn't very relevant. Is there any merit to leading turn here just to set your own price to draw (or for other exploitative reasons)? I still think it's a bad play exploitatively, but would like to hear your thoughts

I think its interesting that even if Hellmuth had A10 instead of K10 in that hand, it doesn't change that much. Turn hes either way ahead or way behind instead of drawing to nuts, and river, he's only beating the same bluffs (missed clubs) and losing to every value bet. Maybe he's beating some random 89 or QJ that villain decides to turn into a bluff but generally unlikely given play on earlier streets.

He just folded the AK he could have got off with being told it was a bad move, but the point fuck all the way off. When you have years of similar or worst mistakes, it makes some people question the value of WSOP bracelets, which is not fair. Probably the greatest moment for anyone to watch is during the Hustler the Casino Streamer live stream with Ludwig and Mr. Beast. Towards the end, Phil has to call a All-in Pre-Flop AJs against a short stack, and Mr.Beast and a bunch of the streamers are chanting at him to not be a pussy and Call. Phil loses more money because he made a bad call on the river, then he feels compelled to call the guy 'crazy'. Then he lies about his hand, claiming that he had aces. Lex was trying to understand why Phil would lie about his hand, I believe that it's all about his image. Calling with Aces is one notch better, or less humiliating, then calling with Kings. I think that's all it amounts to. His ego is such that when he makes a bad play he doesn't want anyone to know how bad it was, so he'll lie trying to save face. I remember when Phil's nemesis Tony G. lied to him once. He told Phil that he hadn't looked at his cards. Tony made a bet, Phil was convinced that Tony hadn't looked at his cards so he went all in. Tony turned over Ace/King, Phil had Ace/Jack. It was apparent right away that Tony lied. Phil objected, mildly at first but it got pretty ugly before it was over. The others at the table and the commentators agreed that it was a dirty thing that Tony G. did to Phil. I disagree. Phil was livid that Tony lied, but I see Phil lie all the time. If you watch Phil long enough, at least I got the sense that he's cheap, a tightwad. He's very willing to accept an advantage if another player were to give it, but since Tony lied obviously it was to Tony's advantage. If you can't accept that Tony would lie in that situation, then you shouldn't bet or raise based upon that information. In effect, Phil enjoys having an advantage but if the other possibility occurs, that he was lied to, then he considers that to be a crime. There were many other situations that make me think that Phil is a cheapskate, not the least of which is buying in to a game for 10K or 20K, when the others at the table are in for a minimum of 100k. It's not automatic that this strategy works, but I think it's a clear indication that Phil's trying to win big without taking the same risk as the others. I don't know why they don't stop a player from doing that by establishing an appropriate buy in minimum. One question; why do the other players let Phil get away with calling them names, particularly when it's a new guy or one that Phil doesn't know very well? I couldn't accept it very easily; I'd probably respond in kind. Nobody sits down to play and wants to be insulted or to get into a nasty argument. In this case, the guy did nothing to Phil, no slow-rolling, no bragging about taking his money, just nothing. Phil can't leave like a gentleman, he's not satisfied until he throws down a couple of insults. I think that's also a result of his huge ego, because if he fires off an insult or two, in his mind that somehow makes the guy look bad and therefore Phil doesn't look quite as bad. That doesn't make sense to me. Doesn't Phil realize that people have feelings?
