I kinda liked the idea of hold em and kinda started getting interested then I watched Ivey play in 2003 main event and watching him hooked me into playing. I love his intensity and how he intimidates people. As a sports fan he is in my top 10 of watching someone compete at their sport. Hes a straight killer

I have watched Ivey for years and he is 1 of the most aggressive players ever or lag poker player but now he’s more tight passive with lots of pot control while still shifting gears back to lag
@Vpopov81
@Vpopov81 4 жыл бұрын
i was gonna say he seems alot more passive. Probably because the game has changed. In 2003 tight aggressive was taught so lag was prolly easier to run over the table now everyone is lag. Or who knows maybe people tighten up as they age a la doyle brunson chip reese
@LucasLincolnn
@LucasLincolnn 4 жыл бұрын
phil is more tight passive nowadays because the skill gap between him and the rest of the field is way smaller. in the past he could profitably 3bet any two against 90% of the players because of his huge edge post-flop. now the game is very different and all his opponents have a very consistent fundamental understanding of the game. that being said, he's still an elite player.

@@030Cappucino He's "just checking reactions." He's 'checking breathing and chest movements, hand movements, known tells and non-tells, calculating history and knowledge of the players at the table, the last hands that have been played, the pattern of cards that particular dealer has been dealing, the history of the dealer themselves, the players' chip counts, if they've been playing aggressive or passively, how that dynamic changes when they're losing or winning, if they're heated or drunk or high, thinking about if they owe money, how much they probably have in the bank, and most importantly if they play new-school or old-school poker. Flush beats a full house Aces play as high or low, but as there is no 2-5, A6789 is the low straight. TJQKA remains the high straight. Ah,6h,7h,8h,9h, would therefore be the low straight flush.
