Plus he played perfectly the entire night. Only hand he got in bad was 2 pair vs gut shot that is disguised n he still used 2 time banks n wanted to fold 2 pair for just 700k. All other hands he lost he got it in with the best hand n got sucked out, and took like 3 suck outs for him to lose. He got max value on every hand to have a huge chip lead n did everything right just got very very unlucky having opponent all in several times bad.

Michael Wright You’re right. This is a little off topic but what makes Phil so great other than his flat out results is his ability to keep up with the game. It’s changed so much in the last 20 years and especially in the last 5-10yrs. Phil can play great live against the younger guys who play gto and know every statistically correct play. I’m 38 and learned hold’em and 5/7 card stud at 8yrs old and have had good results living in Las Vegas playing live/home games and online between 2006-2011 and I still win MTT’s (no really huge $) but I have seen how different the game is. If you’re a winning player online today you can go to local casino/home game and you will definitely beat it if you’re playing consistently. Anyway yeah Phil’s def an all-time great. Good luck on the felt Michael👍
@stevesteve7882 жыл бұрын
@@kdub9918 do u still win online? I used to beat $1/2 and $2/5(not alot but profitable). Just dick around now but I'm breaking even, even at micro. Deposit $20, get it to $200-300 with MTTs sometime but back even fairly quick. I feel even small stakes no one makes mistakes, more about making big lay downs n not overplaying hands but even that's hard. See some guys over play TPTK still n complain but it's rare, where I just try to get to showdown n usually get over bets n every mistake they really make me pay. Don't see a noticable difference from $.10/.20, .25/.50, $1/2- almost everyone's grinding. I think I'm only really profitable at $1.10-$5.50 MTTs.
@kdub99182 жыл бұрын
Steve Steve it’s honestly a kinda eerie lol because you’re dead on there isn’t a difference between $.10-$.20 and $1-$2 anymore. Honestly I went on a really hot run playing $2-$10 MTT’s I actually had .60 in one account and ran it up to $800 but I’ve slowed up a lot lately after taking some shots during big Suday tourneys. Ido I just think online poker is on its way out for numerous reasons. I definitely enjoyed the old pre Black Friday days.

At 11:04 the commentators made a mistake, actually both players - Ivey and Greenwood - can only lose to one hand. Ivey would lose to KTc - a royal flush - and Greenwood can only lose to aces because he has a flush and holds the key blocker Kc necessary for the royal flush. Note that with these community cards, only an ace-high straight flush - thus a royal flush - is possible. The T9c mentioned by one of the commentators at 10:48 would only be a lower flush (AQJT9c) than the one Greenwood holds (AKQJ8c). Also note that this is 6+ Hold'em (aka. Short-Deck Poker) and thus a flush is the fourth best hand possible.
