I think that Phil Ivey was/is one of a group of players that have dominated the game since the beginning of the TV age. Other players that dominate are Phil Laak, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Gus Hansen and others. Prior to the TV age I would cite Doyle Brunson, and Amarillo Slim as the Poker pioneers. There are probably at least 200-500 online players who have deeply studied GTO with solver who would destroy Ivey and Dnegs nowadays. This isn't 2009 anymore when everyone sucked and had a really poor understanding of the deep fundamentals of the game.
@drewmon25153 жыл бұрын
There may be 500 online players who do all that GTO studying but will never be able to play the nosebleed stakes that Phil plays at consistently and beat him. If you look majority of the high stakes players that play at Bobby’s room in the summer, it’s jungle man, Doyle, galfond, Ivey, Gus Hansen, oppenheim, hennigan, I mean how many GTO players are playing $400-$800, $500-$1k live.
