WTH. He almost always gets called by a queen or an overpair esp in a multi way pot. Edit: tbh the others don’t rep over pairs but still any queen my call. If he bluffs with a open ended straight then that’s a different story.

1:44 bluffing with broadways - what about the fact that hands like J9s, QTs have much worse equity given opps range than hands like 78s, 76s?
@D4Z3D_5 жыл бұрын
vvalk2vvalk ur using them just as blockers. Makes it less likely the opponent is holding/will be pairing up with them. Somethin like A2 works good but agree that brodways like QT/KJ... are just abomination in that spot. Even that A10 could be considered shit which is why that 3 bet call is marginal with it. Dont understand why doug was like - thats an easy call.
@Nick-xu7ns5 жыл бұрын
John Smith you’re calling 17 into 77 closing action preflop. You only need 18% equity to break even with the call (which even in this horrid spot with a better ace in the pot and two spades dead he still has 19%). A10s over realizes equity and you’re in position to two players. Definitely need to flat at least but the 4bet play seems strong too. Both should profit easily.
@D4Z3D_5 жыл бұрын
Nick Dashineau That equity actually applies to going throught to the river. you have 32% chance of flopping a pair. If you hit an A it will most likely be dominated by the guy 3 betting or the callers. If you hit the 10 and get so lucky its 10 high flop there are lots of overpairs in that 3 bettors range and any additional overcard JQT will be scary as hell. By the turn you need at least 2 pair to justify going forward and the chance of that happening with this shit hand is like 6%. You will just lose a lot of money when you hit your 1 pair and get dominated... you can always 4 bet but its a bluff more or less. Ur just representing AK+. Bottom line if you dont flop a monster, you will be put in horrible decidions each step of the way. I prefer to let these ones go
@Nick-xu7ns5 жыл бұрын
John Smith for sure. That’s why you want to choose hands that over realize their equity so that you can take lines that reach the river more often. You want hands that make strong flushes/straights. A10s makes both the nut flush and nut straight allowing for a lot of postflop raise lines that allow it to realize more than just its raw equity. And yes an A10s 4bet pre is a 4bet bluff. But it’s a pretty major part of a 4bet bluff range because of its removal and because it over realizes when called (pretty similar to wheel aces etc.)
@D4Z3D_5 жыл бұрын
Nick Dashineau So you gonna make nut flush/straight like 3% of the time while having to spend more money on turn and river. Postflop agression vs 3 other people when you are likely to play from behind is not very relevant I would say. Even in ideal case you hit a FD youd still be raising someone with at least a pair with equity of like 36%. So this issue then it comes down to how much payoff can you get with it. Just from the top of my head Id say you would need to win something like 400k when you hit it to make that play worth it. But then again there is so much delicate math involved underneath this that I am getting sea sick. In my opinion its not an easy call by any means.

So the question is what is best play. I think jam the flop for Zang against a donk lead. That is a balanced range. You do it with AA and KK or when you flop a set. You stack your opponent if he calls. You can do it with gut shot or flush draw and outdraw them.
@willowandluka53025 жыл бұрын
Yea but you also have to worry about Bellande. It was pretty obvious he probably had too pair. So say Baldwin bets, Bellande calls, Zang jams, Baldwin folds, Bellande might have to call.

What’s interesting here is if he was certain the his opponent had just an over pair he was getting the right price to call at the end. So if you thought that say a bluff with a flush draw say was about as likely that the guy was on better than a pair - practically that would be trip queens, possible low trips. Then maybe call was the right decision at the end, albeit I wouldn’t want to do it.
@andrewwebber4215 жыл бұрын
There has been a couple of hands in this Triton game where a player has gone in too aggressively with unsuited low connectors then believed they needed to defend them and lost a lot of money. Really don’t think it’s a profitable play!

Live read comment: On the turn, Baldwin and JRB both check, and you see Zang stare-stare-stare at the board before betting. This is a classic tell that he's drawing, right out of Caro's book.
