I'm convinced Antonius decided at some point in his life that he'd rather pay off a hundred million dollars worth of Phil Ivey value bets than ever let Ivey bluff him. Dude just NEVER folds when Ivey bets.

his call on the second one with the flush potential was by far the right decision he had king high for the flush and was 50-50 chance to get the flush and didnt... poker comes down to luck once your at that level
@zakinster14 жыл бұрын
@@devonr7497 Not a 50-50 chance but 1 out of 3 to get a flush with a draw on the flop. Because there's already 4 spades out and only 9 remaining out of the 47 cards unknown to Phil. That means 9/47 (~1/5 or 20%) chance to get it on the turn or 9/46 (~1/5 or 20%) to get it on the river. Chances not to get it at all is 80%*80%=64%, chances to get it is 1-64%=36% or ~1/3. Phil was not betting on the flush, he was calling a possible bluff with a very strong hand (overpair and strong flush draw).

In the hand that begins at 8:19, I wonder what tells Antonius thinks he is seeing in Ivey. PA grossly misreads PI throughout this hand. Antonius either (1) misjudges tells from Ivey, which seems improbable due to how much poker these two have played together, or (2) if not by misreading tells, Antonius is playing the hand totally by feel/gut, and his gut is horribly off & it costs him dearly.
