Amen to that!!! Really began to hate researching potential gear, it just was a ego slap fest... Slap slap slap, then look up at the camera and smile, "did I slap good?" What happened to the fingers... Nobody rocks anymore... My thought is that many of those diapers are bedroom heroes, not giging bassists! Anyway enjoyed your demo!! I think I am getting a 47 cab!! Excited!! Now, what to drive it with?!?!

Killer playing. Fellow player here. I just subscribed to your channel. Amazing tone. How do you find low notes resonate? Does it fart out on the low E or does it hold its own at volume? Thanks for a great review where you actually play. I'm tired of seeing others review and all they do is talk with no playing.

Donald, Very nice vid... Just got a Cab 47... Have only played 15 min on it!!! Probably plug in after this comment... Just wondering about your take on the cab... Possitives, negatives, where it excells, etc... Just some insight maybe... I'm driving it with a Hartke TX600 (450w@8ohm) That is brandy new also... So, I'm on the learning curve of a small rig vs my old, and heavy "big rig" Again, enjoyed your vid, stay solid, brother!

Nice sound! I have seen a few demos on this Cab47 cabs but I have yet to see a demo of them with someone using a pick and playing rock. Would a pair of these cab47 Handel aggressive rock playing with a pick? Thanks
@DonaldWaughmusic5 жыл бұрын
Andrew Mcleay most definitely you can also pair the cab 47 with a Phil Jones Bass BP800 to get even more head room.

Your playing and feel is SICK,Brother! I thought that sounded great. I think less options on any amp is better. I think Vol,Ton,Mid,Treb,Bass Master would be fine. Maybe switchable 5 band graphic. Low/High Bass or Mids just unnecessary. Great sound.
@DonaldWaughmusic5 жыл бұрын
The Irritated Irishman Thanks very much. You are so correct on that. Less is more.
@theirritatedirishman54405 жыл бұрын
It’s like drumming after my stroke and seizure I absolutely could not play guitar anymore but my very first instrument was the drums and in every band except 1 I played bass. For some reason about 8 months after I my stroke I hopped behind my sons old Ludwig kit and within 3 days everything clicked again. With bass same thing and think the reason is I think in beats when I play bass. I think like a drummer. Boxing same thing. Hit a speed bag and you 1,2,3 1,2,3 or triplet, triplet. Funny thing I never knew till a few months back is Larry Graham’s bass playing came from imitating drumming? Look how simple some of Sly bass lines actually are but then people try it and because his feel and timing is so much inside him those simple lines become difficult. It’s like James Jameson nothing crazy but the tone and feel make it difficult. Your playing is on a whole other level. Experimental, Beautiful, Toneful. Funny thing is all these beautiful Basses out there Dingwal and Fodera, then you pick up that older P-Bass passive pickups and case closed!
@DonaldWaughmusic5 жыл бұрын
The Irritated Irishman Totally agree. Having a good sense of time is essential in playing any instrument for sure.

Hi Donald. New fan here. Are you using 2 x cab47? I am planning to get the D400 and just the single cab. It’s all I could probably afford for now.
@DonaldWaughmusic4 жыл бұрын
I mostly use one cab47 at gigs, I only take the second one when its a bigger stage. Depending on the size of the stage you should be fine with just one for now.

Thanks for the straight forward answer... I am in the same boat as Victor... Budget for 1 cab n 1 amp or combo ( have my old Hartke rig, but I'm older now, and tastes n backs change!) So, your opinion is that this combination will suffice most " club" gigs... That is a great help in trying to finding the right PJB rig set up for a range of gig possibilities! Question about the amp... Are you running both cabs from the one amp? And, do they use the 1/4" jacks or just the nuetriks? Also, enjoyed your playing! Will subscribe!

Thanks for a great vid!! Please, some questions: -What is that unusual instrument starting at 2:23? -Do you think this cab would work well as a in a traditional telecaster guitar rig?
@DonaldWaughmusic Жыл бұрын
It would be a bit of over kill for a telecaster. If you are going to spend that type of money you may as well go for a twin reverb
