And that music arrangement by George Duke I believe is absolutely Genius. Phill Perry brings all his emotions to this version.

Ain't no WAS dangerous, this man is one of the most under rated singers in the biz! I've been listening to him since the 70's. Go find some of his early works and you'll see what I'm talking about. I could go down a long list of songs, but it's really too extensive, once you research him, you will understand. The original song was great, a classic. Phil's vocal ability is intoxicating. So, this is not a competition, when he sings a song he makes it his own while not taking anything away from the original artist. Now that you've been exposed to Phil, you'll never be the same!!LOL!

After reading many of the comments, not wanting to admit the great sound of this version, I think Phil did a fantastic job! The vocals are so great! With that said, the original by the Spinners is the true classic and I think it was the best. Please check it out for yourself. If you want to know some Spinners classic, check out “I’ll Be Around”, “Sadie” (dedicated to mothers every Mother’s Day), “Might Love”, just to name a few. Yes! This is another rabbit hole to climb into.

He is one of the most underrated singers from my era doesn’t get a lot of hype. As I mentioned in a previous reaction, I had the opportunity to work with him in the early 2000’s. He is a perfectionist and if you ever get to see him in live performance, I can assure you he sounds better.
