Phil, ya took me back to my childhood memories. My grandad always bought the red rind cheese by the entire block. He was a dairy farmer and knew good cheese! He passed away at church on Father's day. A wonderful godly man! He always said when it was his time to go, that he wanted to die in God's house. He got his wish! God is so good, all the time and honors our wishes. @UCdLioTkRg2XkxR298MbSNdQ TarTar is never canned. I’ve eaten TarTar. For foods to be canned they must be cooked first. I merely commented on the subject, had no idea it would get folks so overly concerned.
@jimreed2393 жыл бұрын
@josh dombrowski pickling preserves veggies. Pickling isn’t the same process as canning. Meat must be cooked. I’ve been preparing food all my life. Didn’t intend to get you upset about the facts of canning and pickling. This my final comment on the subject, I’ve got more important stuff in life to be concerned about. But if you find some canned TarTar at the store be sure pick some up. Tell us how it smells when you open a can of rotted meat. Have a good one!
@jakebakey13 жыл бұрын
@josh dombrowski you are a fool arguing for no reason to prove the most ridiculous point? Are you the can man? Pickles are in a jar meats are generally cooked to be canned. Why do you care to prove that?

Phil always takes me back to childhood memories. Both my mother and father loved sardines, kept in the cupboards stacks of all different tiny tins that they would eat with crackers after we were put to bed, as they watched TV. We girls recoiled in horror at the tiny fish with the heads still attached and figured our parents were just barbaric in their dietary habits. Living on the West coast, they would take us on 'grunion runs' and then fry up the tiny fish...I was scolded by my mother for emptying the tiny fish back into the water to 'save them and let them live.' My father would laugh hysterically at all of his daughters'' expressions of distaste. Eating Bambi?! We're still not suitable to take along on any hunting trips with our brother, that's for certain! Sardines are an excellent fish to eat in moderation, alongside canned tuna. Always handy to keep either on hand in short-term emergencies. Phil is a wise man.
