I love how you come up with ways of making gear from recycling other peoples junk Phil, just goes to show you don't need to spend a small fortune for equipment if you have the know how, I love seeing a repurposing project like this, awesome 👍

I love the idea. But here's a thought Can you mount a spinning solid bar just below where the rocks enter the barrel To act as a hammer mill and then do the chain mill bit below it So the bar smashes the bigger bits, and the chains smash the hell out of the bits that fall through? I'm impressed, That's pretty damn good work for an arvo off!

Yes I think a heavy hammer would improve its performance but the electric motor I'm using is not powerful enough to handle the load. I'd like to rebuild it with a motor better suited to the job.

@@moneybox5733 A friend gave me a top-loader washing machine that's got a nice big motor in it, so I'm probably going to give this a try with the motor from that, once I finish other projects I've got on the go, ie: A wheel barrow mounted weldless, 12v Jaw crusher, I now know a lot of ways to make one that doesn't quite work yet! ;-) and MillZilla - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXiXfKt3hbJsfs0 - still a work in progress. I'll post more vids once I get them working properly! Good Luck!
